Maddie used her senses to track them to the middle of the woods. She saw Emily and Kayla wounded, and surrounded by blood ghosts. Their weapons will be powerless against blood ghosts! Only immortal weapons will have an effect on them! Maddie thought. Just as a blood ghost was going finish them off, Maddie ran forward.

“Hey!” She yelled taking out her ghost sword. She sliced them all making them disappear. When she had defeated them all, Maddie helped them up, and took a good look at them. “Okay, who’s stupid idea was it to go into the woods?!” Maddie screeched. Emily quickly pointed at Kayla. Kayla threw her hands up in surrender.

“How was I supposed to know that the woods was crawling with ghosts?!” Kayla shouted.

“You can explain that to me later, but right now, we need to get out of here.” Maddie said. They all headed out of the woods, and took a rest.

“So, did any sign of him?” Emily asked. Maddie paused.

“Uh.....no.” She mumbled clutching the bottle in her pocket. They both shrugged.

“Neither did we.” Emily answered.  Then everything went silent. After a while, of silence. Kayla looked concerned.

“Do you guys hear that?” She asked. They both listened. Then they began to hear a rumbling sound. All of a sudden, the ground in front of them exploded and a familiar figure stood before them; Joey.

“F-found him.” Emily choked out.

“Well, it seems Maddie was right!” Joey cackled.

“What are you talking about?” Kayla asked.

“Oh, but a simple trade.” Joey answered. “A cure, for sacrifice.” Emily and Kayla glared at Maddie.

“YOU SOLD US OUT?!” Emily shouted.

“YOU TRAITOR!!!” Kayla shouted at Maddie. Maddie threw her hands up in surrender.

“He’s lying! I never told him where you were!” Maddie protested.

“Then what’s that in your pocket?” Joey asked. Kayla noticed the bottle in Maddie pocket, and snatched it away.

“So you did sell us out!” She shouted.

“How could you?!” Emily shouted.

“Guys, you have to-”

“Oh, no need for argument.” Joey interrupted Maddie. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a zombie army that me and my queen are going to lead!” Joey shouted. Using in-human speed, Joey flew forward, and swallowed Maddie up in a dark blue cloud.

“Let me go!” Maddie shouted trying to rip herself away the chains that were bound to her. Joey ignored her getting his machine ready.

“Oh, don’t worry Zakorra.” Joey said slyly. “Soon, you’ll be back to your old self!” He said. Then Maddie saw her Zakorra spirit in a cage across from her! He was gonna turn her back into Zakorra! In between Maddie and the spirit stood a giant glass case where he was going to combined them. Will Emily and Kayla come to save me? Maddie wondered. While Joey did some button pushing, and lever turning, Maddie looked at him in disgust.

“You made me look like a traitor in front of them!” Maddie yelled. Joey laughed.

“You’re point is?” He asked.

“Now, they think i’m with you! Now, they’ve turned on me!” Maddie answered.

“That’s what we both want isn’t it?” Joey said turning around looking at her slyly.

“Now that you’re no longer friends with those fools, we can finally rule the world together! Isn’t that what you want?” Joey asked.

“First of all, for the last time, I’M NOT YOUR QUEEN, and second, no, that’s not what I want!” Maddie yelled. Joey chuckled.

“Well, it will be soon.” He said and pushed a button moving Maddie into the glass cage. Maddie looked at her Zakorra spirit. It looked lifeless, soulless, and almost sad. Joey began to move the Zakorra spirit into the glass cage. “Now, shall we begin?”
