I woke up, gasping for air.
I'm dizzy. Where was I? How did I get here? What is going on?
I look around, seeing a white room with bright lights, and a person. Two people. Three. I looked over at my right arm, seeing an IV. My head was pounding. What's happening? My senses are numb. Looking around for a bit, I realized that the three people were working on machines, and I heard a loud beeping noise, going slower and slower. "Hurry up, team. We are loosing her! Clear!" My eyes widen, and the beeping gets faster as the defibrillator electrifies my body, near my heart.
"Clear!" they say a second time, and I gasp for air again. "We are good team! No Code Blue." My head is pounding even harder, and the beeping is steady and on a beat. This was soothing actually, but I still wasn't sure what was going on.
"Can we see her now? Is she safe?" I hear a young woman's voice say, and a reply of the same voice that I heard earlier. "Yes, but she may not be awake much longer, but be careful because right now she is like glass." I think about the sentence, and try to remember why I had been here.
"Sweetie? Joyce?" I hear the same young woman's voice. My sight is clearer, and I look over to them. "SHE IS AWAKE!" My headache seems to get even worse than before, which I know, I have already said that, but it felt like my head was going to explode.
Then everything was dark.
That's when I remembered it all.
