Chapter I : Ghost Boy

sunday,

i was having a bad today. i argued with my mother on the phone. she complained about my falling grades.

i tried so hard not to spill it. she didn't know why and she didn't have to know.

i was low on money so i had to find a job to keep my fridge full with something edible. i could never ask from my mom, she had a hard life to back in the hometown so i couldn't be so selfish.

it was a quarter past eleven, i walking home after i went out for some hot meal with lisa and jennie, my friends from the same faculty.

lisa was loaded with money, she treated us all. and i couldn't express my gratitude enough for her.

the small street to my apartment was always dark at this time of the day but i was used to it. nothing scary was there.

i stopped by at a vending machine to buy some canned coffee and continued to walk home while sipping on it. when i emptied the can, i bent down to place it into a bin however after i returned back to my straight posture i was faced to a boy.

he had this beautiful silky grey hair, a slight built up body and a boyish look that expressed his youth. he, however, was making funny faces at me.

"um, excuse me? what in the world are you doing?"

he threw his head back before letting out a giggle. but stopped mid air and snapped back to his previous posture

"ㅡwait what, you can see me?"

"uhh it's not that dark here."

"oh my god! you actually see me?"

what is wrong with him?

"girl, will you look down at my toes for a sec?" he requested with a puppy eyes and i looked down.

ㅡholy shit. his feet weren't  touching the ground!

as soon as i saw that my head snapped back to him and he stared at me with full concentration.

"y-you're not a human."

"i am a wandering spirit."

"no. no things like those don't exist!"

he chuckled. "believe what ever you want to, sweetie. i exist, like this. even though i'm not breathing like you."

i throated my saliva. he looked extremely good to be a liar.

"go home, beautiful. just think that we never met or think this as a nightmare."

i stepped aback from him and ran as fast as i can but i tilted my head to look at him he was floating really high already.

-

lisa listened to me attentively as i told her what happened just now into the phone. i had sprinted home right after and called her while crouching into a ball under my blanket.

"i thought she didn't drink just now?" i heard jennie's voice appeared from the other line.

"lis, do you put me on a speaker? and gosh, jennie i'm fucking sober. i saw a ghost, not imagining things!"

"y/n. i think the spirit is real and he probably also wanted to avoid you too but now you've encounter it. stop using the route late at night, okay? jen and i have to go. i'll see you when i see you. bye." she hung up and i scoffed.

he wanted to avoid me? he was the one who imitate weird faces at me. but he probably did to everyone. the difference was they couldn't see while i could.

now this shits scared me. what if i see ghost randomly out of nowhere?
