XXXIV. disasTEAr PARTY (2)

"I did not do anything wrong, your majesty. I am also a victim of this misunderstanding" I politely explain.

"And you're saying that I was lying and creating a false truth!!" The crown prince shouts at me

"Silence!" With his majesty's stopping William whatever he wanted to say, he said, "continue"

With his permission, I took a deep breath and said, "I and Lady Spear were talking about desserts when she trips herself. I have nothing to do with whatever happens. Indeed, I made a wrong move not to catch her but it was too late for me to react because everything happened so fast"

The king, once again, nodded then looks at the heroine.

Rosette who were sobbing silently like she was mistreated, nodded her head and explained in a blaming voice, "I am sorry, Celine-sama. It really is my fault. E-Everything.... e-everything she said was... true" she said between her sobs but if you notice her tone, you'll think that she was threatened by me to said those words.

The king's face gone black especially when he heard that Rosette was asking for forgiveness to me while she didn't asked for his majesty's forgiveness. What does it mean? It means that she was afraid of me and not to His majesty, and was threatened by me... if anyone tried to think her words in another angle.

I started to tremble because of anger when I heard her explanation.

I know the king was smart but I was still hoping that he didn't notice the other meaning of Rosette's word and creates another misunderstanding.

"Did you threaten her, Lady Valkhyne?" The prince coldly stares at me before he gently said to the heroine, "Rose you don't need to be afraid. We are here for you; we will protect you from anyone"

Rosette shook's her head, "no. It... it really was my... f-fault. Don't blame Lady Valkhyne... please... for me"

I felt I am going to faint from each words that left from her mouth. Her childish and innocent face shows an aggrieved expression like she was afraid of something... and this will really cause another meaning.

"Enough! We heard that everything was just a misunderstanding" the king coldly glance at me before he looks around, "go back to whatever you were doing. You five, follow me"

We nodded as we follow the king to his study.

Once we enter the room, we immediately heard the king's fury voice, "did you five know the scene you created?! A small misunderstanding became this big mess! How can you clean this up?!"

We just keep silent and did not know how to answer.

"You!" He glares at Rosette who was biting her lips to not let any sobs came out, "you once again created a scene! Do you know what punishment you can get from this?"

She started to tremble and pale from his word, when William saw her, he started to defends her from his father, "father, it was obviously not Rose--"

"Silence! I did not give you permission to explain anything in her defense"

William pales. "My apologies, your majesty"

The king continues his word, "last time you escape from punishment but this time you cannot. This is the royal palace and you break a law by creating havoc inside the royal palace!"

When Rosette heard this, all the blood from her body drained and she fell on her knees and started to cry, "your majesty, please forgive me. Please forgive me"

"Father, Rose was still a child. You can't do this to her"

The king coldly looks at his son, "since you met her, your head started to malfunction" then he again, look at the heroine, "as a punishment, I will not allow you two to meet again. Lady Spear will remain to her mansion until the starts of her class in Ygdrassil Magical Academy. Once I learned that you leave without my order, I will give you a harsher punishment"

Rosette nodded and started to thank the king for his venerable personality etc etc.

William wanted to say more but was stop by the king and asked the guard nearby to bring him (William) back to his chamber.

When William and Rosette left; I, Henry, and Kyle was left together with the king.

"You three" we straightened our back when we heard him called us, "I will let this thing slip by for your father's face but when it happens again, I will not be easy on you, especially you Lady Valkhyne"

I gritted my teeth and nodded to the king. I was misunderstood, again.

"You really disappointed me"

I wanted to cry and retort at him that I was telling the whole truth but no one will believe me... even my little brother doesn't believe me.

After we left the king's study, I walk really fast but someone grab my arm. When I saw who he is, I harshly remove his hand from mine and threw it away, and then started to turn my heels.

"Oneesama... I am sorry. I...I can't lie to the king"

I stop my track but didn't look behind as I coldly laugh, "you didn't trust me" then I left him and Henry.

I felt someone embrace me when I left the building and I saw Chris niisama. He gently rubs my back and softly said, "Cry if you want. I will let you borrow my shoulder so cry everything what's inside your heart"

"....Oniisama" and I started to cry. Loud enough to removes the entire burden inside my heart and hugs him tight.

"It's alright. Oniisama is here for you"

With his soothing and calm voice, I fell unconscious in his arms.

At least, someone believes me and that's what important for me.
