Toni

Chad and I were at home watching movies in our bedroom. He was laying between my legs with his head on my chest as I used him for a popcorn bowl holder.

"Chad? Chad?" I called before hearing light snores.

Okay I was watching movies and he was sound asleep. The doorbell rang ruining the peace. I put the bowl down and carefully tried to slide out from under him.

"Nooo." He whined making me chuckle. "Baby someone's at the door." I informed him.

"Fine." He said getting up.

I walked downstairs and opened the door. "Hey bitch!!" My best friend of 12 years squealed hugging me. She saw Chad behind me and cleared her throat, "I mean...praise the lord saints!! He is worthy!! I think I feel a shout coming on."

"Hell is hot Milly

"Hell is hot Milly." I whispered to her.

Chad chuckled at her, "Hi Camille....Baby I have to head to the church for a meeting I'll be back in about an hour." He said.

"Okay." I replied. He kissed my lips before he grabbed his car keys and walked out the door.

Camille turned to me as the door closed, "Now that the saints are gone, where's the booze?"

"I swear you and Tamar are just alike."

"Where is she anyway?"

"Studying abroad in London."

"I need to text her and see if she can find me a man." She exclaimed while checking herself out in the mirror.

"There's plenty of men at church you should come one Sunday." I told her. I already know she's not gonna come.

"I'll come when y'all get an open bar."

I shook my head at her, "You need Jesus." I chuckled. "Seriously Camille, you should come."

"Fine. It better be some fine men in there."

After the meeting, I gathered my phone, iPad, and car keys. As I closed my office door a woman greeted me.

"Hi Pastor Evans, I'm Raquel. I just have a quick question." She said nicely.

"Hi, what's the question?"

"Well I'm getting married and I wanted to go through marriage counseling. I've been coming here since I was little and since Pastor Atkins and his wife passed I was hoping maybe you could help us."

"Of course. When is the wedding?"

"In 2 months." She said lowly.

"Okay we can do a 6 week session. If everything works out in the end, I'll do the wedding free of charge."

"Oh wow thank you so much."

"How do Tuesdays and Thursdays sound?"

She agreed and we went separate ways. I hope this works out. When I got back to the house Toni jumped in my arms like a little kid making me laugh. "Did you miss me?" I asked while pecking her lips.

She deepened and dominated the kiss before pulling away, "I always miss you."

I sat her down on the couch, "I need your help with something."

"What's up?"

"So I was asked to do marriage counseling and I agreed."

"That's great."

"But...I don't think that should be done alone. I could tell them about having a great marriage but why not show them? So, WIFE I want you to co-counsel...I think that's a word."

"Wow...I don't know. I mean, this is more of your lane. What if I say something wrong and it stops them from wanting to get married?"

"You're not selling marriage baby, you're telling them the truth and offering guidance. What they do with our advice is up to them."

She thought for a minute before finally nodding. "Okay...I'll do it."
