You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Neighbors. Fucking neighbors with the girl that won't leave me alone. As if it wasn't bad enough I had to deal with her at school, now I had to worry about her showing up whenever she felt like it.

Folding up my cane I place it on my dresser, setting my backpack by the door. Feeling my stomach still rumble in hunger I head to the kitchen only to remember I am all alone. One of my parents would usually make me food when I asked, but since they aren't here and I don't know where they've put anything I'm beginning to regret rejecting a second sandwich so quickly.

Scowling to myself I make my way back to my room and head for a shower. As I'm waiting for the water to heat up I strip off my clothes. This is one of the few times I am actually grateful that I can't see.

Though four years has past and most of them have faded, I know that the scars are still there. Haunting me. Torturing me with their memory.

The day I lost my sight forever ingrained on my body.

Stepping into the scalding water I let it wash away my thoughts, relaxing my tense muscles. Rinsing the conditioner from my hair I shut off the water and open my eyes only to see nothing before me.

Same as usual

Reaching for a towel I hear my phone going off. Quickly drying off so I don't slip and fall, I wrap the towel around my waist as I answer.

"Alex honey, you there?"

"The phone didn't magically answer on its own" Is my sarcastic reply as I open my drawer for a pair of boxers.

"I'm just calling to let you know I'm on my way to get you." The metallic rustling of her keys fills the background.

"No need. I got a ride."

There's a pause in her stride as she processes. "A ride? From who?"

"The girl they make guide me around school. Apparently we're neighbors." grumbling the last bit to myself.

"Neighbors, how wonderful. We must have them over for dinner sometime."

"Nooo" I groan falling backwards onto my bed.

"What, what's wrong?" My mothers frantic voice fills my ear.

"She's so... annoying. Always trying to make me talk-"

"You like her" Teasing evident in her tone.

Angrily I growl out "I do not. We are not discussing this further, goodbye" before hanging up.
