Before I could even enter the class, I could hear my classmates talking about Mr Aizawa and me, wondering when we would be coming back to class.
Awkwardly, I glanced at my teacher, who nodded for me to go first.
Glaring lightly, I did as he wanted, silently cursing him for throwing me under the bus.
"Kuro!" The class did that thing again, the one where they chorused the same thing, and I grinned sheepishly. "I thought you were still in the hospital!" Izuku demanded, running up the stand in front of me.
"I kinda should be..." I rubbed the back of my head "but they figured, I'm not getting any damn rest with my dad there anyway, so I might as well go back to school."
Izuku continued to stare at me worriedly.
"I still have to take it easy, but I'm just a little tired, that's all." I pat him on the shoulder and walked to my seat, dropping my bag on the ground "you should all probably be more worried about Mr Aizawa, he really didn't get the all clear to come back" I chuckled, and at my words, Mr Aizawa entered the class, glaring at me through the thick layers of bandages.
"Woah! What a pro!" Kaminari gasped, staring at the bandaged teachers with degrees of shock and admiration.
"Mr Aizawa! I'm glad you're ok!" Iida declared, raising his hand.
Smirking teasingly, I rested my head on the back of my hand "oh my poor heart Iida, you don't care about me?"
The bespectacled boy flushed bright red and immediately started stuttering, making me giggle with amusement.
"My well-being is irrelevant," Mr Aizawa sighed, stopping in front of the class podium.
"Kuro almost died for your well-being, of course it bloody matters!" Kaa-chan snapped, glancing back at me with that same worried look that I was quickly becoming sick of.
Ignoring him, Mr Aizawa continued; "what's more important is that your fight isn't over yet." The classes reaction was immediate.
Fear.
Worry.
Eagerness.
"The UA sports festival is about to start." I rolled my eyes, dismissing the annoying fear that filled my blood.
"Ah! Why would you scare us like that!" .... God, how does this class do that chant thing?

"Let's go kick some ass!" Kirishima cheered, before Kaminari pushed his face back.
"Wait a second!"
"Is it really such a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Jiro asked, and the class nodded in agreement.
"They could attack once we're all in the same place!" Ojiro supplied, nodding.
Mr Aizawa sighed "apparently the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and that our school is safer than ever. Plus they're beefing up security, compared to past years. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains."
I raised my hand, and he nodded to me "is there any way for me to bring my hand held in? I won't be able to do anything without it."
"I'll give you the forms before lunch break ends." I nodded in my appreciation, and clenched my jaw and hands when the class continued to stare at me in shock.
"Kuro, why aren't you playing something? You're actually paying attention!" My nails dug into my hands and I clenched my eyes tight as Izuku asked this.
I was so arrogant before, I relied so heavily on my quirks... When I couldn't use them I was stupid, I was weak.
I was worthless.
Seeing my state, Kaa-chan began growling at Izuku "leave her alone Deku, she can do what she wants!"
I opened my eyes, and saw five people still staring at me in worry, while the rest of the class got the hint and pretended they weren't secretly listening in.

"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic games, but then quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one event that matters, the UA sports festival."
"That's right!" Yaoyorozu nodded, looking rather eager "and top heroes everywhere will be watching! This is where you get scouted!"

The class started talking about the benefits of doing well in the festival, but I couldn't join in, all I could think about was his voice "you owe me now..." his hands on my throat "this'll be twice I've spared your life, but attack me again and I might just lose my patience dear..." the evil in his eyes, the death that he's seen "Call of the lizard..." his hand, patting my head "Good girl...." The scratching...
