"Max, I know you don't want to talk about it. But at least eat? You haven't even tried lifting it onto your fork," David said worriedly, looking at Max. The young boy was poking his spaghetti with his fork. He looked up at David. The bruise on his eye somehow made him look more sad.

David sighed, putting down his own fork and standing up. He walked over to Max. "Max, you're going to have to eat," he insisted it. He earned a quiet groan of disagreement from the boy. He sighed once more, reaching his hands over and taking the fork.

If you know Helen Keller and that one situation where Helen and Anne Sullivan fight at breakfast, it would basically be what was going on between Max and David. Just more.. Timid, in a way.

Eventually, the fight between them had ended and Max had unhappily eaten the spaghetti. He had almost spat it out the moment it went into his mouth but didn't want the fight to presume, so he just ate. It was only one forkful.

David sighed, examining Max's face for what seemed like the fifth time. Why hadn't he told him what was going on? It confused him and made him wonder.. Did Max trust him?

Max jumped off the chair. "I'm going to my room," he mumbled, quite harshly.

David went to stop him, but Max pushed David away from him. "I'm going to my room," he repeated, sounding much more harsh than before.

David just took a step back, letting Max walk to his room. He sighed and shook his head.

(Well this took around a year. So so so so sorry!! I wasn't that confident in this chapter but what is done is done. Hope you enjoyed!)
