The discovery of my journal will be quite the interesting one. I intend to write everything in this journal. Each word said to me, and everything that happens. I know that sometime in the future, someone will discover my journal. And I hope the discovery reveals the truth. About me, my upbringing, my family, and those who are around me.
I write this, January 12th, the day of my 13th birthday, and the day I earned the right to keep my journal. To put it simply, I am a princess. A simple young girl, who was born in a royal family. It must sound so... Boring when someone put it like that. I wish my life were so simple as to be so simply summed up like that. But I am no ordinary princess. Because at my core, depsite the wishes of my family and those in power, I am a teenage girl, with teenage emotions, and problems, and wishes.
And what I wish to be is not what they wish. I wish to be a writer. I'm fortunate enough to have learned to write, and I adore it. The act of putting an inked quill to paper is such a satisfying feeling.
My parents fear that letting my learn how to write and read was a mistake, because it seems like since my 10th birthday when they let me start learning, I've become even more distanced from what they want me to be.
As the daughter of a queen and king, my parents and society have very high expectations. For a very long time in my life, they would dress me up pretty, and make me look beautiful, only to keep me by their sides, as a servant almost. People have always complimented me on my beauty. Every time I say the same rehearsed line. "Why thank you very much. You also look lovely." But its when I'm around my friends, and no one else that I really shine. When I'm with them, my reaction is usually "No shit I look beautiful!" Or I start pouting.
My family and those in power have become increasingly dissapointed in me and the youth of our kingdom. They worry that the people I am around are a bad influence. But I dont care. I love my friends. And I will not have them taken away for any reason.
