"I'll see you on the weekend, Audrey!" I say as I get into the car and wave goodbye to my best friend of 8 years.. "How was your day Miss Emilia?" The driver, Tom asks me. "It was good." I answer. 20 minutes later we pull up to my mansion.

"Hey daddy." I say to dad when I walk in. "Hey sweetheart. Your mother is at the Windbriar's house. They are discussing the neighbourhood Christmas party thing. She should be home soon." He says fastening his watch. "Okay, I'll be in my room." I say before walking up the white staircase to my room.

I take off my black flats and put my white backpack on the light pinkish couch in my bedroom. I sit on my big bed and pull out my phone. I punch in the passcode and go onto InstaGram. I immeditaely go to the 'DEAL' group chat. Danielle, Audrey, Lea and I made it in grade seven, it is the most used group chat in my opinion. "Your mother is home." the maid, Saphia says before closing my door again. I tell her that I will be right down and turn off my phone to go downstairs. "Hey mom, how was the meeting?" I ask. "It was okay. The Windbriar's really want to have fireworks but nobody else does because it was done last year." She says, obviously stressed. "Whatever happens, it will be amazing." Dad says before kissing mom on the cheek. "Someone is here." The doorman, Joe says opening the door wide. We all look at each other in confusion. "I'm back." I look up and the second I see that long, beautiful, perfect brown hair I know that it's Ruby. She hasn't been home in over a year, she left the night she turned 18. "Ruby!" I exclaim as I run towards her and squeeze her tight. She picks me up and spins me around. "Ruby." Dad says not pleased with her being home. "Father." Ruby says in return. "I see that you're back. And you're clothing choices haven't changed a bit." He says without any emotion what so ever. "Well father, I decided to get a bit dressed up for my reuniting with my favourite human being, little Emilia here. It all just simply goes together, especially with my signature black leather jacket and dark red lipstick." She explains to him. "I truly have changed, just my clothing choices have not. I've missed you guys, even you, dad." Ruby says grinning. I hug her once more and she puits her arm around me before we go upstairs. "I changed it up a bit." I say before we walk in to my bedroom. "It's way better than the bright pink and purple last time." She says as she sits on the fuzzy white bench at the end of my bed. "I'm glad you're back." I say as I sit on my bed. "Me too, oh my room." She gets up and goes to her room next door. "It's beautiful. Nothing has changed." She says when she walks in.

"I had to literally lock myself in here for 30 hours so that dad wouldn't turn it into another guest bedroom, as if we need another one." I explain. She seems so at home here. She belongs here, she was the missin piece in this bedroom. "Neighbourhood Christmas Party is on Sunday." I tell her after a few minutes of silence. "There won't be many people considering the fact that this neighbourhood is literally filled with a few gigantic mansions and a few very bratty imbeciles." She says. She never liked how uptight the people supposedly are here in Mordor. "Do you have an outfit?" I ask her. "When do I not?" She asks grinning. I laugh and we head back to my room and she goes through my closet. "You're clothes are cute, not something I would ever be caught dead in, you know how I love my black clothes, but you've grown when it comes to your taste in clothes." She says holding up a deep green dress. "Do you have a red dress?" She asks me. "Why?" "Must I explain this to you? Well, you see Em, if you want to attract any cute guys at the party, you got to wear a red dress." She explains. "I have a boyfriend. His name is Mason." I say. "Is he a Windbriar? A Lexington? A Briarson?" She asks listing some of the family last names in the neighbourhood. "His last name is Wells, and he sort of maybe lives in Los Angeles, California." I explain, it's a long distance relationship. "Is he cute? Otherwise this relationship is useless to be honest." She says. "He is indeed handsome and sweet." I tell her. A few minutes later Saphia comes into my room. "Dinner will be served shortly, you two can come down if you would like." She closes the door back up. "Shall we?" Ruby nods and we head downstairs for dinner. We all take seat at the table and begin to eat. We have grilled chicken and ceaser salad. "So, how long will you be staying with us?" Dad asks halfway through dinner. "I don't know yet. A while I assume." Ruby replies. "Why did you come back in the first place Ruby?" Dad asks curiously. "I missed home, you know how homesick after a while. Being away from Emilia was just too much for me." She explains. "What about your boyfriend?" Dad asks. "We broke up. He didn't exactly love me anymore." She says, I can tell that dad crossed the line by asking about Rubin. "Not surprised." Dad mutters under his breath. "Do you have something to say, father?" Ruby sounds angry with him. When she was younger, they were inseperable, but now they quite honestly despise each other. "Everything has been said." Dad says pleased with himself. "Excuse me please." Ruby says before crumpling her napkin into a ball and storming upstairs. "She means well, dad. She's finally happy. Why did you need to ruin that?" I ask him angrily. "Watch your tone young lady." Dad warns. ""Go check on your sister, Emilia." Mom says. I go upstairs to see her standing by the big window in her room. "Ruby, are you okay?" I ask, knowing that the answer will be no. "I'm fine. If you ignore the fact that dad absolutely hates the fact that I've come back to Mordor." She says turning around to face me. "He's just a tough egg to crack. Give him some time, you'll get through to him." I explain. "Let's go watch a movie about a family with drama so that I can feel better." She suggests, we go watch a movie and fall asleep in my bed, just like old times.
