Prologue

"Happy Valentines Day, Gracie! Flowers for you"

I just looked at the guy who just appeared in front of me with a bundle of red roses. I dont know him.

"Um.. flowers... for you" he repeated

My eyebrows shot up. I'm so tired from receiving gifts already. Tapos, dadagdag pa siya. I sighed. "Thanks" I grabbed the flowers from him then walked away

"Gracie!" The guy called out

I pretended like I didnt hear him.

"Free ka ba mamaya?" He shouted

I scoffed. I'm free but not for you. Sorry.

I strutted my way out of the hallway and into the classroom where all my other gifts are stored.

"Meron pa? Gosh, Gracie! Meron pa bang maidadagdag sa kagandahan mo?" Jocelyn said, grabbing from me the roses. I shrugged in vain.

"Kanino naman ito galing?" Tanong ni Katie
"I don't know. But some nerd I guess." I said, sitting down
"Eh anong gagawin mo dito?" Katie added, gesturing to my pile of gifts
"Ewan ko. I don't like flowers so I'll probably just leave it at home to yaya. And all else that are worthless will be inside the trashcan."

Jocelyn and Katie widened their eyes.

"Ba't mo itatapon?" Jocelyn asked
"Because I don't need it." I said with a shrug
"Why don't you just keep it? Pinag-ipunan yan ng mga admirers mo." Katie said
"And so? Kasalan ko ba? Choice naman nila yon eh."

Jocelyn threw me a disapproving look. I just shrugged. Kasalanan bang maging maganda?

After assorting all our gifts, we have decided to go to the canteen. Half-day kasi ngayon dahil may valentines fare.

As we entered the canteen, may sumalubong sa akin na isang chubby, madungis, at may skin condition na lalake with a guitar over his body.

He began strummimg. I raised my eyebrows. Despite his bad physical attributes, he's actually great with a guitar.

"I found a love for me
Darling, just dive right in
And follow my lead"

Also good in singing may I add. I dont want to seem rude but even if he serenade me all his life, hindi ko pa rin siya papansinin. But fine, harmless naman siya so I'll let him be. For now.

"When I saw you in that dress

I dont deserve this
Darling, you look perfect tonight"

After he sang that line, he looked at me with fear.

"Gracie Flores, can I court you?" He said with a shaking voice

I pursed my lips. Hindi ako nagdadalawang isip sa aking sagot. Pero hindi talaga eh. I dont like him! There's no way in hell that I will like him. I mean, look at him!

I scrutinized the guy. He has overgrown hair, bushy eyebrows, acne dilemma, crooked teeth, chubby figure. The opposite of what I like! I sighed.

"No." I said simply

His eyes watered up and everyone was silent. Until, "Asa ka pa! Si Gracie, sasagutin ka?!" Somebody shouted. And it was followed with laughs of agreement. I cant help the small smile on my lips. Tama nga naman.

When I looked at the guy, his head was down. When he felt my stare, he looked up. "At least I tried." He murmured.

I rolled my eyes at linampasan lang siya papunta sa counter.

Sorry, hindi kita type.
