I took the file.

Why? Was she crazy? She picked me out of all her other assassins. I don't want to go over this again.

"Of course this time you are going to be yourself. No makeup. No masks. No faking it. This is very important to me and your father." she went on," Do it right this time, no killing. It is going to be a piece of cake for you."

I could not say a word. She always made me look different so no one would notice me. I wonder if Seth's son is as nice as he was.

When I was assigned Seth, I watched him for a couple of days. I had to figure out how I could get into his life and search for something that he had hidden.

He was a very nice man who would volunteer at soup kitchens on Saturdays. I took the opportunity and infiltrated the soup kitchen and became one of the homeless. I started making small talk with him and he seemed like he pitied me. The small talks became into conversations about lives and family. I had lied about everything but he did not.

He told me that he thought we had a sort of father-daughter relationship. One day I didn't go to the soup kitchen and he went out and looked for me. I considered running away but I was too afraid. He found me on some swings in a park.

All lies come from some truth. I had told him that I had never been to a park. That is how he found me.

It was too late to go to a shelter so he offered to let me sleep in his home.

I regret going.

He set me up on the couch and asked me if I wanted anything. His wife was sleeping upstairs so he let me know that he would tell her I was here in the morning and his son was sleeping at a friends house so I didn't have to worry. After that he went upstairs to sleep.

I waited for what seemed like hours before I started searching.

I searched through everything in the house but did not find what my parents had wanted. Seth was an accountant and he had information on my parents clients. I was just suppose to erase the information. In some ways, I guess I did.

Living room, kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and two bedrooms had nothing out of ordinary. The only place left to search was his bedroom.

Once I got down to his bedroom I found a safe. I went and unlocked it without waking him but there was nothing there. I was about to get into his drawers when he woke up.

He looked at me and then noticed the opened safe. He put his finger up to his mouth signaling to be quiet. Without waking up his wife he crept out of his bed and grabbed my hand pulling me out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

"What are you doing? How did you open the safe? Are you looking for something? If you needed something you could have came to me."

I froze in that moment and could not think of anything to say. I was twelve and I cared about him enough to not want to hurt him.

All I could think was that he would find out about everything and call the police. Thanks to my parents convincing "we will kill you if you ever get caught" speeches I decided it wasn't going to happen. That was when I grabbed the kitchen knife and aimed at his heart. The look on his face while I was leaving was unforgettable.

"Do you think you're up for the job?" my mother asked.

I knew that I had no choice. Even though she asked me, I had to do it. I got up from the chair went to the door and turned the door knob.

Without looking at her I said "Yes, I am."

I left the room. Walked down the long hallway and arrived at my plain room.

Plain bed, plain white sheets, a plain desk, and a plain closet. Plain everything.

I laid down with the file on top of me.

I felt tears streaming down my cheeks. I was crying. I was actually crying.

Guess I have emotions left in me.

I don't know how I am going to be okay with this.
