He tried to sign back, tried to protest, but she grabbed his hand gently. She held it close to her chest. And his heart hammered desperately in response. He wanted to scream out, to pull her close and never let her go. Doing this for him? How could she say that? He loves her! Theres no one in this world who he-
His deep eyes rose to meet hers and he shook his head. She smiled sadly at him and nodded, his hand still to her heart. His eyes were wet and his mind was foggy with emotion. He pulled his hand away to softly cup her face. He brought her closer to him and leaned down.
The kiss was gentle, it was soft and tender. Full of absolute love, it was short. The fog went away for that brief moment and he wanted to fall. He wanted to fall just like every other time they’ve kissed. Fall in love with her all over again.
But he didn’t.
