In 1983, a girl named Max Mayfield was going home on her way home to school alone, since her stepbrother forgot to pick her up. While she was going, she noticed a girl with a buzzcut, and wore nothing but a oversized shirt from Benny's, walking alone in the lonely neighborhood, looking and feeling scared, and unsafe. Max sees her and helps her out, making her feel not alone. She probably knew that the girl was a runaway.
