Tanner looked at his watch. "It starts in 5 4 3 2 1"
The bright light from the moon shown down on them and each of the cubicles lit up.
Scarlett couldnt see anything. She could only hear them scream and shout and groan in pain.
"What's happening?" she asked, speaking up since that whole ordeal started.
"Turning is very painful," Nick replied, folding his arms. "The spirits who created this couldn't find another way around the pain.
After about two more minutes, Aerin's returned to normal. "It's over, " she said.
The cubicles opened and the smoke that had filled the cubicles subsided. They were all unconscious and still. They almost looked dead.
A heaving sound filled the room and everyone looked to the second cubicle.
"Declan." She walked to him and helped him up. "Are you okay? "
His balance was a bit wobbly. "I guess so. I feel different. "
"You're a canid," Tanner said.
"A what?" Declan and Scarlett stepped out of it.
"You're like a wolf but stronger, " Aerin said. "You belong to one of our strongest factions."
AJ woke up too, looking paler. "What's going on?"
"You're a felid." Nicholas gave him a cup. "You need that so you wont tear all our heads off."
"Felid?" he asked.
"Whoa," Declan said looking at the last cubicle.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY, Scarlett thought. Faye had changed. Her brown hair was lighter, and she looked extremely cute and petite. Was she floating?
"What am I?" she asked.
"A Fae. " Aerin smiled at her. "Your wings make you very easy to love. That and the fact that you control the light in the world."
"I'm a Fairy?" she said, an excited and elated smile spreading across her face. "And I have wings? What color are they? Do they sparkle? Oh my God."
Penelope stepped out that moment and Scarlett could swear that she saw something evil around her. Her normal strawberry blonde hair had gotten darker and her blue eyes were now red. To top it all of, she also had wings. Contrary to Faye's, hers were dark with feathers. She still looked pretty as far as Scarlett could tell. A dark Angel.
"Pixie." Tanner smirked. "Holder of darkness and death. Mischievous and very promiscuous."
"Hmm," Penelope angled her head. "I like the new me." She walked out of the cubicle, carrying an air of emotions that Scarlett couldnt differ.
Declan rolled his eyes.
"Scarlett? "
She turned at the sound of Ellerry's voice. She had to admit. Her best friend looked powerful. Almost had an air of superiority.
"Hey," Scarlett said.
"What is she? " AJ asked as he helped her out.
"A Sorceress." Nicholas put his hands in his pockets. "Very respected among the magick world. "
"Now it's your turn," Tanner said turning to Scarlett.
"What? " Scarlett stepped back.
"You're the most special."

It's time." Cyan closed her eyes. "It's time to own the Immoria."
Rallen nodded. "Ill stand watch. "

Aerin's eyes turned white. "There's another aura around. "
"Cyan?" Tanner asked.
"I guess so." Aerin rooted herself and stretched her arms out again. "She needs to turn now."
Nicholas looked at the confused redhead. 'You need to step into that." He pointed at a small cave different from the others. "There, you determine your path. Light or dark."
Scarlett looked at him. "What If I dont?"
"Your friends will die." Nick touched her hair. "You have to turn now. Remember this: own the light. "
Scarlett opened her mouth to say something but closed it. "Okay. "
"Good. " Nick led her into the cave.
Aerin resumed her chanting and the cave closed with a transparent barrier.
"Why does she have to turn alone?" Ellery asked.
No one answered because the blood curdling scream drowned out all sense of speaking.
"What's happening?" Faye asked.
"It's gonna feel like every bone in her body is breaking." Tanner watched her intently. "Here comes the tricky part."
Aerin started coughing.
"What's wrong?" he asked her.
"Cyan is fighting me. She wont let the light own her. " She dropped to the floor.
"No. We cant give up. You know what'll happen when dark wins." Tanner shook his head. "We cant take that chance."
Aerin nodded. "Ill do my best."

Scarlett screamed again, the pain gut wrenching. Her bones cracked and her dress tore, revealing her ashen skin. "Why is this happening to me?"
She felt something burn on her side and her wrist. She groaned in pain and thrashed on the floor.
"Come here dearie," a voice said.
It couldnt be. Was she in hell? "Mother?" she looked up.
"It's okay baby," the voice said. "Mama will make it all better. Just come to me."
"how is this happening? " she asked softly, the burns still spreading to her body.
"You dont have to worry." The voice was coaxing her towards the darkness. "Come here. I love you honey. "
"Mum," she said softly as she crawled.
"No!" a loud voice ran through. "That is not your mother. Own the light. "
Scarlett turned her heads to know where the second voice was coming from. she turned to see an orb of light glowing. It pulled her to it.
She crawled to the light .
"Yes," the voice of light said. "Im here. Try to stand up. It'll be alright."
Scarlett nodded. Something in her heart was telling her this was right. She forced herself to stand up. As she was about to own it, the darkness got angry.
"No! She's mine."
The dark orb owned her as she owned the light. And then for a brief second, she felt her heart stop.
She clutched her chest and fell to the floor.
Was she dead? She didn't even know anymore.
