AUSTIN'S P.O.V
"So you're the new kid right?"
I was standing at my locker when I heard this question being asked and realizing it was my first day at Central Bridge High, I quickly turned around to see a dude who looked as if he was around my age with his nicely cut black hair and icy blue eyes. I noticed him in my gym class earlier and from the looks he was one of the school jocks. But why was he talking to me? On my first day?
"Yes I am." I replied trying to sound more curious than dumbfounded. By far, he's the first person who have spoken to me today and today was my first day which was not going too well.
"Well." He began. "I'm Shane Andrews and I know you seen me in gym class last period. You were pretty good with the exercises you should really consider thinking about joining the football team, we're running out of good players." He then sized me up before adding "You have the body too we could really use you.
"I'll think about it." Was my response.
"Anyway you seem pretty cool and I'm having this party tonight at my place, you should slide through, we could get to know each other and you could meet the rest of the team plus you wouldn't wanna miss out on the hotties would you?"
I put a little thought into it giving him a hard look. I thought back about my mother and if she'd be okay home alone tonight without my father's arms to hold her, It was just I who had arms left to hold my mother and my hands to heal her heart. But a party wouldn't really hurt. Hey! reputation boost.
''Looks like you're giving me another thing to think about today shane." I gave a low chuckle.
"Well here is my address." He handed me a slip of paper with his address on it. Looks like he had this whole thing planned out, Like he knew I was going to say yes.
"Oh! I almost forgot to ask your name, I wasn't really paying full attention back in class" Shane said taking a look over me before he left.
"My name's Austin."
"Cool, I'll see you tonight!" Shane called making his way down the hallway, disappearing into the crowd of students.
It was kind of strange for someone, who doesn't know me, watched me at gym, to just walk up to me and randomly invite me to the party. He seemed cool so I really didn't mind. Taking another look at the piece of paper I noticed he live 3 blocks from my place which was not bad.
Not bad at all.
