She stood in the little store waiting for the perfect moment. She pulled her black hoodie down more over her face. She saw an old man walk into the aisle and smile at her. She smiled back and he grabbed a bag of chips and turned around. She smirked to herself "Stupid" She mumbled under her breath, she followed after him not making a sound. His wallet in his back pocket, she reached and grabbed it but he whipped around. She fell to the ground looking like she picked up something. She looked up at the old man "Did you drop this sir?" She asked in a sweet voice, he smiled and took it "Thanks" He muttered back, she stood up and took off going outside the store money in hand. She smirked at herself, the thing was she hated doing this but she had to. She lived in an apartment with her mother and five year old sister. Her mother either worked or was drunk but the money she made was never enough so she stole. The worst thing is everyone at school knew about it, they made fun of her because of what she does and where she lives. Everyone knew her as street trash and the bad kid at school. She lived in a shitty two bedroom apartment, with neighbors that always fought or were loud. She started to make her way down the street waiting for the old man to notice. So, when she heard screaming and footsteps coming towards her she bolted. She pushed past people knocking some down. She ducked into an alley the guy passing her. She stayed there and waited until he turned back around and headed for the store. She smiled at herself and looked down at the money in hand. She had fifty bucks now, she stuffed in her shorts pocket and exited the alley heading home. She climbed through her bedroom window. Trying not to wake up her little sister who was sleeping. She closed it not making a sound but of course the light came on in the room. She turned around and saw her sister up. "Where did you go?" She asked with a big yawn, she smiled warmly at her sister. "I just had to go get something." She spoke walking to her sister's bed. Her sister sat up in bed, "Is mom home?" she asked sitting on the edge of her bed "Yeah but she told me to leave her alone." She groaned she knew what her mother was doing. She was getting drunk again, she only drank to cope with the death of her father and the life they lived. "Okay back to bed now." She kissed her sister's head and tucked her in. She turned off the light and shut the door, she looked down the small hallway and saw her mother's door cracked open. Tv sounds coming from her room. She walked slow the light getting brighter. She opened the door looking in the room, stepping in the doorway. Her mother was passed out in bed with a bottle in hand, she sucked in a breath and walked in kicking a bottle across the room. She looked at her mother and all she did was drop the bottle. She sprang up, looking around. "Camilla?" She breathed out "Hey...." Her mother cut her off "What are you doing in my room?" She asked "I was just checking on you." She mumbled, her mother smiled at her, Camilla flicked the tv off "You don't need to do that." Her mother spoke "I should be checking on you." Camilla rolled her eyes "But you never do." She mumbled under her breath, "What?" Asked her mother "I said you never do!" She spat "Wha....." She cut off her mother "No just shut the hell up and let me speak..." She paused "You never do anything for this family ever since dad died!" She snapped "Camilla yes I have." She spoke standing up, Camilla chuckled a little under her breath "Sure you have by drinking away your problems, not paying attention to your daughters!" Her mother was getting pissed at her "Go to your room!" She spat pointing "Why so ten minutes later you can give me a half ass apology!" She was breathing heavy "I'm tired of this shit, I'm tired of stealing, I'm tired of being okay....." She stopped and looked at her mother "Just leave me alone." She turned on her heels and walked out of the room shutting the door. She walked into her room and grabbed her blue bookbag. She dumped all her school stuff out and opened her drawers and put whatever clothing she had which was not a lot. She grabbed a pocket knife she had and put it in the bag. She put anything else she need in the bag and turned around to see her sister up and watching her. "Go back to bed." She spoke standing tall. "What are you doing?" She asked "I'm having a sleepover with one of my friends." She spoke lying so well "Okay then" She climbed into her bed and pulled the blankets over her, she smiled at her sister. She opened her door and went into the bathroom grabbing more things and putting them in her bag. She walked out with the bookbag on her back. She looked and saw her mother's door closed. She took a deep breath and walked back into her room. Her sister was fast asleep now, she opened the window and sighed. She looked at herself in the mirror and saw her black long hair sticking out from her hoodie and her tan skin making it stick out more. She looked out the window "New life here I come."
