She stood there in the doorstep of the building. She looked at the basket which held the tiny infant swaddled in a pink blanket. But more importantly she looked at the note, the note that said: Hello my name is Aspen Phoenix and my mommy doesn't have enough money to raise me please give me a good life.
Though this was a choice she knew she would regret the woman knew this was best. It was a feeling. She knew the baby wouldn't understand but the woman knew it was right. She looked at the baby's brown hair matching hers. Finally she stared at the baby's
chocolate brown eyes matching the woman's. After finally deciding the woman rung the building dropping the baby in front of the wooden door and leapt into a nearby shrub.
The woman unseen saw a heavy set woman older than herself look and gasp at the basket the baby was now crying. The older woman read the note and took the basket inside the establishment after saying. "Nice to meet you Aspen, I'm Mrs. Lapis." As Mrs. Lapis closed the door the woman, the baby's mother got out of the bush and crept away running to her home.
