Chapter 26

I was getting ready for my date with Thorn and nothing could go wrong this time. Sam was outside the tent looking at the sky till I get dressed.

I wore a t-shirt and black ripped jeans. I'm not a fancy girl and I'm not gonna wear a dress, tey are not comfortable at all.

I got out of the tent to see Sam giving me a weird look. I was staring at him as he was staring at me back.

Mr. McGrumpy was sitting on the ground as I narrowed my eyes

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked as he shrugged.

"Looking at you like what?"

This dude is weird. He is giving me a weird look he has given me before. The look he always gives me when I'm next to Thorn.

"You're giving me the look"

Sam furrowed his eyebrows as I let out a long breath without saying anything else. I don't get what this guy has against Thorn. Sam is my boss, he isn't supposed to get included on my love life. When I'm with Thorn he will always does something stupid for no reason.

"Okay, you said thanks some hours ago. Why does your attitude change so much and why do you hate when I go on dates"

Mr. McGrumpy looked furious as he clenched his jaw in anger.

"I feel bad for him dating a self center, arrogant bitch like you"

Those words hit me hard. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know how to respond at those words. They were like a sharp knife stabbing my chest.

Without any other glance at him I walked away to see Thorn waiting for me with a big smile on his face.

I didn't want to ruin his night, just like mine so I tried to smile too.

"You look beautiful" Thorn said kissing my forehead as I blushed

We walked for half an hour holding each others hand and we finally sat down on two chair he had placed under a big tree. Thorn also brought food which definitely made my night a lot better.

"Merry Christmas cute-cumber" Thorn said taking a bit from his burger as I wished a Merry Christmas to him too.

We started to talk about stupid things.

"Does raving each others names on a tree sounds good to you?"

"No, who takes a knife on a date" I responded as Thorn chuckled.

I mean seriously, why would you take a kinfe on a date? Unless you are dating a furious ogre without your own will and you are sure the ogre is gonna kill you "

Yeah that's what we basically talked about. It was an awesome date, but Sam's words wouldn't leave my mind.

"I feel bad for him dating a self center, arrogant bitch like you"

Am I really a self centered and arrogant bitch? Why does he has that opinion of me? I do not care only for my self like Mr. McGrumpy does, I do not make people feel useless and I do not kiss someone and tell them that it didn't mean anything.

Whoa what? What did the kiss had to do with anything? Ughhh what is happening to me?

"Ummm Nat, are you okay?" 

"Do you think I'm a self centered, arrogant bitch?" I blurted out blinking as Thorn caught my hand.

"What? Who told you that?" He asked in surprise as I didn't respond.

"Okay, listen here. You are one of the most amazing persons I know and my sister loves you more than she loves me. Yeah she told me that today"

We both chuckled as Thorn continued

"From all those people in the world I choose you, because you are the best thing that happened in my life and literally not a self centered arrogant bitch"

Those words meant so much and I knew that Thorn really cared about me unlike Mr. McGrumpy.

Why am I even thinking about him when I'm in such a beautiful date with a wonderful guy.

Thorn's blue eyes met my hazel ones interrupting me from my thinking. He ran his hand through his blond hair in embarrassment and blushed for no reason. Gulping he opened his mouth to say something, but no words would come out.

"What are you trying to say?" I asked in amusement as Thorn blushed even harder. Come on he hasn't said what he was going to say yet.

"Well the thing is...ummm" He murmured as I started to laugh

"For God's sake spill it"

"Well, ummm. We've known each other for some time now and...." He stopped as I wanted to bang my head against the wall.

Finish the damn sentence I'm not a psychic.

"You are amazing and I'm glad I met you, but I'm going to get right on the point"

I ran my hand through my brown hair in frustration. Finally, get to the point damn it.

"I wanted to ask if-..."

Suddenly some people started to play trumpets and the music was getting even louder and it was horrible.

Suddenly to our direction came Mr. McGrumpy and the kids behind him marching and playing the trumpets.

Thorn looked so annoyed while Sam looked amused even if he wasn't smiling while some of the kids behind him would chuckle. Beside the lack of talent and the deafening music Sam ruined my date with Thorn...again.

I crossed my arms at my chest "Why do you do this?"

"HUH?" 

"WHY DO YOU DO THIS" I shouted as he didn't stop playing the trumpet and oh boy the kids didn't either.

I can't stand this guy anymore.
