Lauren runs through the Halls of the Castle, her feet echoes as she slams them down on the cold stone floor. Lauren's arms tighten around the child in her arms and she risks a glance behind her to see if they have followed her. The baby let's out a small cry and Lauren helplessly looks at her tear stained face. She rounds the corner that leads to the kitchen, and she can faintly hear the guards shouting at her to stop. Their shouts and yells only making her run faster, desperate to keep her child safe from harm. Lauren comes to the door of the pantry and yanks it open to hide inside it. Once she steps in, the smell of freshly baked bread invades her senses. She quickly takes out the key her mother gave her, and recites the ancient stricture.

Nothing happens. She let's out a curse and looks at her child's golden eyes. "Baby, I just need to borrow some. It's safe I promise." The child doesn't respond, instead just closes her eyes. Lauren let's out sigh a close her eyes as well. She recites a different spell, one her mother taught her when she was to marry her husband. A spell to steal one's power.

The air around her thickens and it suddenly becomes hard to breathe. Gasping for breath, she finishes the spell and blue dust fly's, surrounding her and her child. Lauren looks down at her beautiful golden eye girl and lays a gentle kiss on her forehead. The baby let's out a cry and Lauren closes her eyes as the blue dust takes her and her baby to another world, to another life, away from any harm that may touch her baby girl.

The thuds From the guards soon fade away, as does the pantry filled with fresh bread. The Castle she grew up in her with brothers and father leaves her and when she opens her eyes, she can't even recognize the world she has stepped into. Lauren takes a step forward and lets out a loud sob, muffled by her hand. A sob of relief and sadness. Relief for her child's safety and sadness for the fact that she must start anew in a strange, new world that she has never before lad eyes on until this day, this hour, this minute, this second.

Lauren looks down at her child and runs her hands across her face, willing her to open her eyes so that she may see the familer, and beautiful golden eyes her husband passed on to her. The baby coos and with a tired yawn opens her strange, yet beautiful... green eyes.
