Valentine's Day

It all started our sophomore year. It was Valentine's day and also a Sunday so I had church. This boy barely knew me but today was the day I was determined to be known. I worked in the ministry at church and his dad is the lead singer so his dad knew me very well. The day before I texted his dad and asked what Kyrie, his oldest son, loved to snack on. He told me dark chocolate which i  found ironic because I myself was a dark chocolate girl and i knew he liked dark chocolate. So i went out and bought a huge bag and filled i with treats that he would like. When i got home i wrote a note about how i found him very attractive and would absolutely love to get to know him better. I placed it all in the bag and was ready for the next day.

Let me tell you about myself. I am a 5'3, dark but not too dark skinned, fifth teen year old girl. I'm originally from Detroit, Michigan but i recently moved to Salem, Virginia . I moved here for a better opportunity and to get out of the hood. Life in Detroit wasn't a joke so my grandmother took me and moved us down here where she was born and raised. My mother stayed back in Detroit and my father was no where to be found until recently. My siblings, grandparents, and everyone i grew up with were there and i honestly didn't know how i was going to take this move. New people, a public school, and a culture shock.

Anyways, i had to prepare myself in order to talk to Kyrie the next day.

The next day i got up and got ready. Of course, i did my hygiene routine then I put on an all white leather dress and a jean jacket with some gray flats. I put on some lip gloss and looked in the mirror. I looked great. I finally through my hair in a bun and was ready to go. When i got to church i set the bag in the back where i was working at and set up the lighting system on the stage. Throughout the whole service i couldn't stop thinking about his reaction.

When service was over, i quickly cut off all the systems and prepared to go up to him. I grabbed the bag and walked through the crowd slowly. It was like all time was stopped and it was just me and him. I walked up to his mother first and said hello because she already knew me. She absolutely loves me and is rooting for me and Kyrie to get together. She looked down at the bag and smiled and winked at me. I turned to Kyrie and called his name softly. I'm usually super outgoing but something about him made me shy. His mysteriousness enticed me and gave me chills down my spine. Was this love already? Nah, it can't be. He turned around and looked at me with those big brown eyes. I melted but i had to keep it together. "I got you something for valentine's day." i told him. He smiled and thanked me. He opened the bag and his eyes got wide. He was beyond excited for the treats inside. "There's a note in here." he said. I nodded and waited for him to open and read it. I watched his face carefully. Once he was done, he folded it back up and held his arms out indicating he wanted to hug me. Of course i hugged him and his mom smiled. "You made this a great Valentine's day. Thank you." he said. I stood there with a huge dumb grin on my face. Although i'm dark skin, anyone would be able to tell i was blushing. Since my number was in the note he said he would hit me up later. I nodded and left. Today has been a great day. I was unsure of my feelings. It was like i was in love or something. I went home and settled in for the night.

I was watching tv when my phone dinged and it was an unknown number. "Hey, Its Kyrie (:" I had a mini heart attack. I responded back and then an instagram notification popped up on my phone. 'EveryonelikesKyrie requested to follow you' I was honestly amazed. Kyrie was actually interested in me. My heart fluttered.
