"when i'm not a receptionist, i work at the bakery down the street from my house," she said with a smile and tyler nodded, thoroughly impressed.
i looked over at the clock and saw that it was getting late, and then i looked over at josh, who was starting to sulk a bit, and i noticed that he had been rather quiet.
"josh, come with me," i said and grabbed his hand. "we'll be right back guys," i said as i led josh into the living room.
"what's wrong bub?" i asked josh when we were alone.
"im getting tired," he said, "i'm not used to socializing this much."
"do you wanna go take a nap while i heat dinner up?"
he nodded.
"okay"
"okay"
i dropped josh's hand and pecked his cheek. "i'll come get you when dinner is ready, i'm very proud of you though josh, you're doing such a good job."
"thank you," he said with a small smile, his cheeks tinted the same hue as his hair which he ran his fingers through.
"goodnight josh."
"goodnight."
i walked back to the kitchen as josh walked towards the bedrooms, but stopped outside.
tyler and jenna were laughing, and from what i could see, they were sitting across from each other at the kitchen table, starting intently into each other's eyes. jenna muttered something and tyler nodded his head, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out his phone, before unlocking it and handing it to her. i chuckled to myself, i was hoping this would happen." jenna typed something out and turned his phone off, handing it back to him, and then her her phone lit up. she texted herself from tyler's phone and my heart melted.
at this point i walked into the kitchen with a smile and sighed. "hey, where's josh?" jenna asked as she saw that i was alone. "he was feeling a bit overwhelmed, he's not used to socializing this much. i told him to go take a nap while i heated up dinner for us, if you guys wanted to stay."
jenna's eyes widened, "oh no, i dont want to overwhelm him any more, i can go, we can do this again later," and tyler nodded in agreement.
"that's fine, speaking of, josh and i wanted to throw a little christmas party with you two, ethan, and josh's neighbor mandy. i understand if you guys are busy on the actual day, we can do it after."
"i have christmas off, and i'm not doing anything, i'm fine to do it on christmas,"
"and you know i ormally spend christmas with you anyway," tyler said with a small smile.
"cool beans! we'll keep in touch then, i'll let you know if the day changes and what time we plan on doing it."
"this was a fun, thank you for inviting me," jenna said with a smile, tyler nodded again, he seemed to be in a haze and i chuckled at him.
"no problem," i said as "do you want any cupcakes? we have plenty, and i got extra in case this went south and josh wanted to do it alone."
"i'll take one for the road," jenna said cheerfully as she grabbed one off of the plate and tyler shook his head. "i'll knock on your door if i want one," he said with a chuckle, jenna laughed too.
"now, get busy with that dinner, i can see myself out!" jenna said, obviously worried about keeping me away from josh. "okay jenna, nice seeing you on a better occasion," i said with a smile as we hugged, "nice seeing you too, y/n"
when we broke away, tyler had disappeared. i shrugged it off, he looked nervous. "where did tyler go?"jenna asked.
"i dont know."
"well, anyway, see you later," jenna said with a wave and walked out the kitchen.
seconds later i heard a gasp, "jesus, tyler what are you doing in here?"
"oh, sorry, i was just wondering if you wanted to come over?"
"oh, sure!"
i chuckled as i heard the door open and close as the pair walked out.
i quickly heated up some left over spaghetti and meatballs and dished out two bowls for josh and i, carrying them out of the kitchen and down to the bedrooms. i lightly knocked on josh's open bedroom door and stuck my head in to see an empty bed. i chuckled and shook my head before turning around to look through the still opened door of my bedroom.
josh was soundly asleep in my bed, snoring lightly and i smiled, walking in and setting his bowl of spaghetti down on the bedside table on his side before making my way over to my side and climbing in.
i gently rubbed a thumb under his quivering eyelashes and he groaned a bit, rubbing his eyes before opening them, revealing my new favorite shade of brown.
"rise and shine, your spaghetti is over there," i said before putting a forkful of the noodles in my mouth. "thank you darling" he said groggily as he sat up and grabbed his bowl, digging in.
i turned the TV that was mounted on the wall in front of my bed on and let josh chose whatever he wanted to watch. he put on some crime show and became totally engrossed in it as he ate his food, and i scrolled through amazon on my laptop, looking for christmas presents for the crew.
~~~
soon enough josh was snoring lightly next to me again and i flicked the TV off before getting up and turning off the lights and snuggling back up against his chest, kissing his forehead and muttering goodnight.
sorry this was really rushed, it sucks asssssss
