Unfortunately, he was found unconscious in an apartment in Seoul. A few hours later, he died in a hospital. They attempted to preform CPR on him but it failed to wake him up.
It's possible that he committed suicide based on a text he sent to his sister. It said,"I've had a hard time. Please let me go and say that I did a good job. This is my last word". At 4:42 (KST) P.M., his sister called the police to alert him that he was about to kill himself. The police said they believed that he may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning through coal briquettes, a common way to commit suicide in Korea.
Many other idols and fans have been sending their condolences, including J-Min, Tao, Jun. K, Jae, Junho, and more.
