Within Or Without (Poems)

That Teddy Bear

She has her teddy bear

tight in her grip

it takes away the pain

every kind; including

all the bad dreams

and her now broken heart

if tears never dried

that bear'd be soaked

along with her cheeks

she may be growing

older each day

but she keeps

that teddy bear

to be a reminder

of the pain she's had

and the pain to come

It's there if she needs it

and one day maybe

she'll give it away

to another little girl

with just the same pain
