If You're Reading This, Then I'm Already Gone

Red, white and blue my flag flies high for me.

Everyday is a struggle to keep you all safe.

I pray and pray that I will be able to come home.

I miss you my wife.

How’s my little girl? I’m sorry I missed her birth.

The stripes on the flag wave to me as I pass it.

The stars remind me of you.

You are the reason I keep on fighting.

If you’re reading this, then I’m already gone.

Life gets harder and harder.

Homesickness affects everyone.

Sometimes I’m not sure if it’s all worth it.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

That pledge is sometimes made to be broken.

How much longer can I go on?

If you’re reading this, then I’m already gone.

Tell my daughter I love her.

God, is watching me from above.

I miss your smile and laugh.

Even though we are half a world apart, I will never forget you.

Just remember, I’m coming home soon, my Love.

But, if you’re reading this, then I’m already gone.

There’s so much I wanted to say, yet so little time.

There’s only so many words I can write to you.

God and I will watch over you and our baby.

I’m in a better place now.

I served my country well, dying a hero.

Bury me with honor.

Don’t mourn too long, you must move on.

Not just for your sake, but for our little girl’s.

She won’t have a father, so she needs her mother.

Don’t let her forget me.

I’m proud to fight for what is mine.

I wish I could have survived.

Stay strong, my dear.

Everything will get better.

Fighting is in our blood.

Never forget me and the ones who lost their lives.

Wave that military flag high and proud.

Here's a military poem and I appreciate all those who have lost their lives fighting for our freedom. It's Memorial Weekend, so I think this goes along pretty well. Remember there's a picture to the right that goes along with this. Thanks for much for reading and I hoped you enjoyed. I'm not sure when the next poem will be posted.
