Miraculous Ladybug: "Bien Joue"

Chapter One

"Marinette.. Marinette!"

"Ah!"

Marinette shot up in a daze. Her hair was a birds nest and her eyes were barely open.

All the while Tikki was floating beside her with an unamused look.
"Yes... Ti.. kki..?"
"You're going to be late for school!"
"Ah.. School... yea.."
....
"I'M GONNA BE LATE!!"
She tumbled off her bed in sudden realisation and scurried across the floor to her clothes that she lacked effort to put away the previous day.

Marinette hurriedly dressed and ran downstairs, falling as usual.

"Marinette, are you okay, dear?" Sabine, her mom, asked, helping her up.

"Yeah mom thanks Igottagonowbye!" She ran out.

As she crossed the road, dodging cars and loud honks, she saw someone up ahead.

"Adrien!" She called.

Adrien Agreste, her long time crush, turned around and noticed Marinette.

"Oh hey Marinette!" He said.

"Where's Nino/Alya?" They asked at the same time.

Marinette blushed. "I-I don't k-k-know, Ad-Adrien. They must be in the class. S-should we go too?"

Then she realized what she said.

"Stupid, stupid, idiot!" She thought. "Why did I say that?! Of course we have to go!"

"Yeah let's go. Hey by the way..." Adrien looked around a bit uneasily. "Have you seen Chloe?"

Marinette deflated. "I- um... No. Why?"

"Oh nothing, she's usually here by now." Adrien said. Then he leaned in.

He. Was. Too. Close.

Marinette felt her face burning. He wasn't gonna kiss her right?

Adrien whispered, "Usually here to squeeze the life out of me. I'm glad it's you and not her."

Marinette sighed in relief and smiled. "Yeah, me too."

"Come on." They walked up the steps and into their classroom- Only to discover that a full scale riot was breaking out.

"What's going on?!" Marinette yelled to Adrien over the shouts.

"I don't know!" He called back. "But I see Nino and Alya! Let's go!"

He grabbed her hand and pulled her in the direction of her best friend.

"Gurl you're finally here!" Alya sighed. Then she noticed Marinette's hand in Adrien's, and a grin spread over her face.

"Dude, you have like no idea what's going on!" Nino said.

"Yeah I don't, what's happening here?!" Adrien asked.

More shouts erupted, and then a loud, sugar sweet voice said, "Adrikins!"

Adrien's eyes widened. "Oh no."

Chloe jumped onto him, squeezing the life out of him.

"Nino... Help..." Adrien choked out.

"We'll be back." Alya dragged Marinette outside the classroom and faced her.

"Spill." She said excitedly.

"Er... What?" Marinette asked, sounding super confused.

"Gurl, you and Adrien were holding hands! Don't 'what' me now!" Alya said.

Marinette blushed. "No! I mean... Yes, but he-"

"He took your hand?! Oh my god..." Alya started to squeal.

***Back with Nino***

"So... Tell me what's going on here." Adrien said, once Nino had managed to shove Chloe away.

"Um... Yeah... It was so weird dude! It's like, one minute everyone's happy, and then Alix asked everyone who they prefer!"

"What does that even mean?"

"Whether they prefer Ladybug or Chat Noir. And then Chloe started talking about how badly Chat Noir always messed up the mission! And that he failed to do her homework. She's one crazy girl dude!"

"What?" Adrien asked. "Who all supported Chat Noir?"

"I don't know dude. It was so crazy, like I said. Next thing I know, the whole class is going mad!" Nino replied.

"And where's Mrs Bustier?" Adrien looked around. "She can stop this mess."

"Well dude." Nino seemed uncomfortable. "She's gone to get the principal."

"THAT bad, huh?"

"Yeah. THAT bad."

**Back with Alya**

"You can NOT seriously tell me that you and Adrien were holding hands for no reason!" Alya boomed with her signature grin spread across her face. Marinette stood there with a bright crimson red scattered across her cheeks.

"Alya, quiet! He was dragging me through the crowd it's no big deal! Besides, what's more important is why everyone is in here creating havoc!"

"Oh, that's simple. It's a big debate of who's the better super hero. Chat Noir or Ladybug!"

"O-Oh.. what have the answers been?"

"Listen for yourself girl."
The crowd of students threw the two names that stained Paris but they seemed to blend together so much that Marinette couldn't tell head from tails.

"U-Umm.. I'm not.. getting anything."

"Well Ladybug is clearly winning."
Both Alya and Nino said.

"Of course.."
Adrien muttered to himself with a frown.

"Oh.. I see."
Marinette spoke lightly in slight anger and disbelief.
'He's an amazing partner and I don't see how people even get their audacity to judge us as some kind of celebrities. Without him.. I wouldn't be able to do half the thinks I do. We're a team.'

"Girl? Mari? You okay?'
She waved her hand in front Marinette's face causing the bluebell eyed girl to snap out of her trance of rage.

"Y-Yeah! I'm just fine! Maybe we should-"

"Class! You must return to your homes! An akuma attack is underway!"

Both Adrien and Marinette were first to bolt out the door and hide.

"Tiki!"

"Plagg!"

"Spots on!"

"Claws out!"
