...Liam’s P.O.V...

“Clair, did you just not hear a word I just said, I would never lie to you, I didn’t cheat on you, I just asked the management if I could come home for 2 weeks, because it’s our 3 year anniversary and I didn’t want to miss it. But things got difficult and then the boys were mad, and I couldn’t handle the stress and expectations anymore and I left.” I say back trying not to snap or cry. Does she believe me? I think to myself. “But Liam, Ahhh... No this is your future, a phone call would have done just fine” Clair says as she gets up and walks out.

“Clair! Wait please” it’s too late, she is already out the door and down the street, and what did I do wrong? All I did was tell the truth, who is she to say that I am lying. Doesn’t she trust me? As I sit and wait for her to come home, I get a call from the management. “Hello.” I say as I answer the phone.    “Liam, I am glad you answered, we need you back ASAP, the press is starting to think you have left the band for good, and there was no explanation for your absence. I have organised a 7:30 flight back to New York tonight, a car will be sent to come get you in 1 hour do make sure are ready.” They say in a friendly but demanding way. What was I going to do, not like I can pack up and leave? That would only make things worse, so I decide to give Clair a call... Ring... Ring... Ring...No answer. Was she ignoring me? Was she in an accident? What did I do? I question myself, but the clock is ticking I now only have 45 minutes to find Clair and get on that plane. I quickly pack my stuff up and put my bags at the door; I write a note and put it on the fridge. “30 Minutes, great!” I say sarcastically to myself. I decide to look for her for 15 minutes and make sure I am back in time for the car. Although leaving her through a fight may make things worse, but it’s my job, I need to get back. As I run around town looking for Clair, she is nowhere to be found. “Where is she?” I ring her mum, her sister and even her step brother. No one has seen her, I only have 10 minutes to run home and get in that car.

I finally get to the door, just as the car pulls into the driveway. It’s too late; I will just have to call her from the airport. I take one look around the house to make sure she is not there, but the house is empty. I leave my note on the fridge and put the key back in the pot outside the door, so she can get back in. As I drive away from her house, I feel a sense of regret and anxiety, what will happen to our relationship, is it at its end. Are we going to break up? This can’t happen, I love her, and she is the only girl I love. Why did I have to go to taco bell with my old friend from primary school? I can’t imagine my life without Clair. I have to go back, I have to find her. “Stop the car!” I yell at the driver. I jump out the car and run back to her house, she is still not there, where could she be? That’s when i remember, our special place, underneath a little bridge over the river, is she there? I think, so I run towards the river to find her standing there, at the railing, crying. “Clair?” I yell out to her as I walk down the bridge to where she is standing. She doesn’t answer, what is she doing? What was she thinking? “Clair, please, I didn’t lie, I’m not cheating on you, please believe me... Just come away from the railing. “Liam, I am so sorry, I didn’t know what I was thinking, I can’t live without you, please don’t leave me. I love you!” Clair shakily says back to me. “I am so sorry, I just, I am sorry” Why was she apologizing so much, she didn’t do anything wrong, “Clair, stop apologizing, you didn’t offend me, I love you too, now just step away from the railing, you are scaring me.”
