Prompt: Eye contact - Write about two people seeing each other for the first time.
Time speeds past us a blur of days, months, and even years. Leaving us blind with near forgotten moments and hazy faces seen at a passing glance. All because we careen through life with one goal in mind. The goal to make it, and be remembered.
Then we have some moments that everything just stops. Possibly answering the bad news call another loved one has gone away. A young couple learning they will be parents, and realizing what they do will effect another soul. The instant you catch eyes with a random person and your world comes to an abrupt halt. You just know that person will have a significant impact on your entire life.
In this moment you become desperate to know their name, to hear their voice, to drink in everything they offer of themselves. In the best situation, your person becomes a permanent part of your life. You devoting yourself to learning everything about them. In the worst situation, you get a taste of what this drug of a person has to offer. Then they leave you with the bitter taste of their memory sour on your tounge.
