"Ha ha Michael. Im only asking if you'd like a drink. It's nothing special."

"But you're being nice to me." He smiles slowly and I roll my eyes.

"Yes or no? It's freezing out here so can you make a decision quickly?"

"Well actually, I've got to be some where..."

"Oh.. ok. Sure, of course you do. It's Christmas Eve."

"But I have time for a hot chocolate.." He smiles.

"Ok." I smile back.

"Get in." He says getting in his car.

"I only live down the street..."

"Yeah, but I don't want to have to walk back up freezing my balls off to get my car later."

"Ok, fair enough." I chuckle, getting in the passenger side.

"You do have cream and marshmallows don't you?"

"I don't even think I have hot chocolate.."

"Oh. Maybe I won't come for a drink."

"I'm not Starbucks Michael." I chuckle.

"Your need to take a good look through your cupboards."

I smile shaking my head. Michael pulls up outside my house and we get out. I walk over to my car, opening the boot taking out all the shopping bags.

"You've been busy." Michael says watching me.

"Yeah. Last minute shopping."

"Here." Michael says taking some bags out of my hand.

"Thanks." I smile looking at him. Michael smiles back.

"Santa is a lazy bastard again this year. Making us buy the presents." Michael says following me to my front door.

I laugh. "It wouldn't surprise me if you do still actually believe in Santa."

"What? Santa's not real?" Michael asks, looking hurt and then smirks.

I roll my eyes as we walk inside. I shut the door and place down the shopping bags. I take off my scarf and coat. Michael follows me in to the kitchen.

"You not with Thomas today? What with it being Christmas Eve, I thought you would be with him." Michael takes off his long black coat, and suit jacket laying it over one of my kitchen chairs. He looks so good in just a white shirt and black trousers.

"Uh yeah, I am seeing him a bit later. He had to work today too."

Michael nods and sits down looking at me. I clear my throat.

"What about you and Sarah?"

"I'm seeing her later too. She's with her family at the moment."

"Oh.." I show a fake smile and start looking through my cupboards for some hot chocolate.

"Sorry Michael, you're going to have to have tea, coffee or nothing."

"A cup of tea then please." Michael lets out a soft laugh.

It goes silent as I make us tea. For the first time ever I don't know what to say to him... I turn and look at Michael. He's looking down and then looks up at me.

"So you're really selling your house and moving in with Thomas?"

"We had an argument about that... he hadn't even spoken to me about it when he was asking you for tips on how to sell. It was out of no where... I didn't know he wanted me to move in with him."
