Japan.

She felt the air in her lungs being sucked out as she tried to keep herself sane and composed but

with Glaiza standing right there, a mere two feet away, Rhian willed herself to stay seated

and not throw herself towards the latter.

"There you are! Glaiza, meet my best friend slash maid of honor-"

"Rhian."

-----

Glaiza couldn't hide the surprise in her eyes. Rhian was the last person she'd expect to see

but there she was, looking all beautiful and perfect, everything Glaiza had remembered her to

be. Time didn't do justice to her as she looked more radiant than before. Glaiza suddenly

remembered why she fell in love with the girl at the first place.

"H-hi, it's nice to see you again," she heard Rhian whisper as the girl evaded her gaze.

"Hi. Same." Glaiza wanted to beat her head with her camera. She can do better than two

words.

The couple looked at the two with furrowed eyebrows. It had never occurred to them as to how

the maid of honor and the wedding photographer would know each other.

"You guys know each other-"

"Excuse me Lovi, but I'd like to borrow your fiancé for a while. Thank you!"

The girl took a seat at the bar as she watched Rhian drag Solenn away from earshot. She

ordered two bottles of beer and gave the other one to Lovi.

"What was that all about?" Lovi asked as she took a swig from the bottle. "You know Rhian?"

The question was inevitable, Glaiza thought. After the awkward introduction, it would be

rather inappropriate NOT to pry. The tension was just too thick to let it pass by.

"Let's just say we go way back." Glaiza answered before she let the bitter taste of malt wash

her drying throat.

She gripped the bottle tightly in her hands, feeling its cold exterior as the droplets of moist travel

along her fingers before inevitably falling on the bar countertop.

Glaiza didn't know what to feel.

She was thankful, though, that Rhian had decided to talk to Solenn away from her, because

frankly, being in the other girl's presence a second longer might be fatal to her sanity and her

gradually healing heart.

Gulping the last of her beer, Glaiza paid for the two bottles and turned to Lovi as she bid the

bewildered girl goodbye. Her head hurts and she just wanted to get away from everything that is

Rhian and a quiet walk on the beach sounds like a good idea right now. Not waiting for the

other two girls to return, Glaiza exited the bar and headed towards the shore.

She also had a call to make.

-----

"Sol, where did you find her?!"

Rhian tried her best not to shout at her friend as she shook the latter mercilessly by the arm.

"Oh my God, Rhi, I swear if you don't release me at this instant, I'm going to claw your eyes

out!" Hissed Solenn. "And what do you mean 'where did I find her'? She's a famous wedding

photographer!"

"What?! How?! B-but she... She's not... Glai's not a..."

'Four years, Rhian. You've been gone for four years. A lot can happen in four years...'

"What the hell's happening to you? Why are you stuttering?"

Rhian closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath. She took a glimpse at the girl that was

drinking at the bar and couldn't help but sigh. She's still beautiful, she thought.

"So? Are you going to tell me or not? Cause if you won't I'd like to get back to my fiancé

please."

Solenn had successfully snapped her out from her shameless ogling. She felt ashamed, unworthy,

to even look at her, to even breathe the same air as Glaiza.

"Sol, remember when we were at L.A. four years ago? That thing I told you about what

happened to me back here in Japan? Well..."

Solenn stared at her blankly, as if waiting for her to get to the point. Rhian waited for a few

minutes to let the information sink in on Solenn, knowing that the latter is a little slow.

She then

saw a little flicker on her friend's eyes before seeing them opening further wide.

"No way... No way in hell... Don't tell me...?"

"Yes."

"She's Cha?"

"Yes."

"Cha is Glaiza?"

"Yes."

"THE Glaiza De Castro? YOUR Glaiza De Castro?! The one that got away?!"

"Okay, that was cheesy, but yeah..." Rhian turned her attention back to the bar and noticed that

Glaiza wasn't there anymore. "The one that got away..."

She held back the tears that were threatening to fall.
