The alarm rang. I got up. Brushed my teeth and showered. Had a granola bar and rushed to my office.

It was yet another normal day. A predictable one like the rest of them. The days of monotony and normality was something that I disliked and liked at the same time. I wish I could say that I hated my work, but it paid and that was the only thing I cared about. Honest.

At five, I packed up my things and took the train back home. I walked the same streets that I had been walking for nearly two years. My face showing the same expression that it had showed almost everyday. I took the same turns and reached my apartment. Swiped the card, opened the door, removed my shoes, put my laptop bag on the smaller couch and lied down on the bigger one.

My throat felt a little dry and reluctantly I went to the fridge.

'Have to get some food soon.'

I grabbed some apple juice and poured it in a glass sipping on it wondering what was I supposed to do now. I didn't have any work for the next two days - weekend. And I didn't have any good friends in the city with whom I could go out.

Well, that wasn't exactly true. But then, I didn't really want to go out. I wasn't the sort of person who would go out. It just wasn't me.

Sighing, I ordered a pizza online and changed my clothes. Went to Netflix and started watching whatever series was available.

Boring.

By nine I got really irritated and little bit stir-crazy. So, I put on a hoodie and jeans and decided to go out for a walk.

It was stupid, I knew. I was a lonely woman, in her mid twenties. It was sensible for me to stay indoors, but sometimes even smart people end up making stupid mistakes.

When I returned home, my instincts flared. I felt something weird about my own house. To be honest, this happened a lot of times, specially when I see some horror movie, but not necessarily then. Cautiously, I took a step inside, one of my hand resting on the phone and the other on the the umbrella that was casually standing against the wall.

I turned on the lights immediately and slowly looked around the sofa, when suddenly I felt a pit in my stomach and I ducked, narrowly missing the swipe of the knife being slashed somewhere around my head. I poked him with my umbrella, but he easily overpowered me and grabbed me by my waist as I struggled against him. But before he could do anything, I punch his gut with my elbow and pushed him back till I could ram him against a wall. I twisted myself in his grasp and opened my mouth baring my fangs and violently ripped his throat apart.

The sweet blood filling my mouth and my entire self sighing in relief.
