"I hate these shitty coffee makers, my mom did it way better when she worked here" Chan threw two bags of coffee ground on the tiled floor and one broke right there on his dirty sneaker.
"Oh for fucks sake"
"Are you joking, you're new and yeah whatever your mom worked here but I don't appreciate you ruining the merchandise on your second week." The older boy Cheol grumbled and rolled his eyes as if they disappeared behind his head. Seungkwan slowly walked over to the stressed younger boy and patted him on the back. "Yikes Chan you might wanna keep your cool, Cheol takes this shit really seriously." He snorted and started cleaning the tables in the very back of the Café. "Yeah, yeah whatever. Well maybe he'll give me a pass since my mom worked here, also we are all college students now so he's not that much older than us. No need to act all high and mighty."
"Okay sure believe what you want, I just wanna go home."
"Well lucky you, we are almost out of here." Chan licked his finger and continued collecting the tips, ignoring the obvious mess.
Seungkwan went outside to change the open sign to closed. He never understood why it was outside and not inside but nobody dared to question Cheol's ways. He stepped outside and slid himself between the small table in front of the sign. He flipped it half way but suddenly a young man man with black hair started to walk through the door, completely ignoring what he was clearly doing. "Uh- actually sir we are closed for today but you can come back tomorrow-" Seungkwan barely finished speaking and stumbled when he hit his foot on the table when walking towards the stranger. He expected the other boy to help him up but he was already inside the café and he could mentally feel Chan's eye roll from outside. He got up and brushed it off and trembled inside with a couple of "oww's" under his breath because he's a diva and it was barely a scratch. Before he could say anything he saw the black haired boy sitting checking texts on his phone and gave a side eye to Chan as he made a late afternoon coffee with a sigh.
Seungkwan didn't want to talk to the stranger since he seemed rude but he couldn't help but stare. He seemed foreign and quite handsome if he must say himself, but he was still angry. Chan finished the coffee and makes hand signals to go over to him with a worried look on his sweaty face. "Yo, I'm not sure about you but that guy is really pretty... But no homo."
"You're fucking stupid."
"SHHHH... Keep your voice down you actual onion."
"Okay but why are you sweating-"
"You can serve him... I'm gonna clean this up before I get my ass, beat into another college." Chan flings out of the front and basically rolls into the kitchen to meet up with Cheol, leaving Seungkwan confused as hell. He grabbed the tray and slowly walked to the brown and maroon table with the pretty stranger. He didn't even say anything either, he just stood there and pouted, waiting for the other guy to notice him and apologize for coming in late and not helping him get up. The boy finally looked up and gave a half smile, his eyes most likely piercing through Seungkwan. "Thanks."
"Yeah. No problem" Seungkwan awkwardly stood there while the customer sipped his coffee when he looked up again. "I'm sorry is there a problem-"
"No! No problem. Just... a bit disappointed you had to come in so late... I was about to leave."
"My bad, you'll have to excuse me, I'm a bit of a mess today, especially my hair."
"Are you kidding. Your hair looks amazing, what are you Mr. I need to be perfect every second of the day?" Seungkwan put his hand on his hip and the empty tray in the other. But he could feel his face heat up.
"Uhh.. yes?" The seemingly younger boy smirked and out his arm around the chair and out his legs out more, looking like a cocky little shit. He sipped his coffee and continued to stare at the server. "My name is Hansol... In case you wanted to know."
"Wow congrats you've caught my attention, I'm sure that gets you all the ladies... Han Solo."
"Yeah, how'd you know?" Hansol laughed and put his phone down and his arm back on the table. "Just a wild guess sweet cheeks." Both of them snorted and Seungkwan sat down, ignoring Chan's obvious staring over the situation. "So... You work here?"
"Yeah my name is Seungkwan... I'm from Jeju."
"Hm... Okay Seungkwan from Jeju are you perhaps in college or rather, going to college soon?"
"Yeah... How'd you know that pretty boy?"
"I'm also going to college and you give me that vibe."
"That vibe? Oh please stop what's your secret."
"No I don't have a secret just guessing. I think your pal gives that away with the way he acts to be quite honest."
"Wow, yeah I get that." They both smiled and looked up.
"Are you from here Hansol?"
"Uh yes but no? It's a bit complicated...If you're wondering if I'm mixed then yes, yes I am."
"Wha- I didn't ask that but I see that. It's really... Different... In a good way of course."
"Yeah you look different too." Hansol bit his lip.
"W-What is that supposed to mean you jerk."
"... In a good way of course."
"I hate you." Seungkwan crossed his arms.
"I get that a lot." Both of the boys laugh for a second then stop in silence.
"Okay well it seems my coffee is out so I guess I'll be heading out-"
"Wait-" Seungkwan cuts the secretive boy off. "Um... are you ever gonna come back here... For coffee of course."
"If you mean for you then yeah, I will." Hansol got up and pushed his chair in under the table. He suddenly got extremely close to Seungkwan and Seungkwan could his face turn red as he could hear his breathing. He could feel a hand on his behind and jumped a bit. "What the hell-" Hansol just turned to Chan who was struggling to clean up everything and yelled out "Thank you, it was delicious!" And continued to walk out saying nothing to Seungkwan who was extremely flustered. He felt his pocket in the back of his pants and grabbed a hundred dollar bill. The realization hit him. "Ohhhh... That's what he was doing..." He scratched the back of his neck and brought the tray up to the counter and was met with Chan smacking the tray and giving him a "really" look. "What the fuck was that for?!"
"You took so long you made that handsome guy stay here even longer."
"Sorry he seemed interesting. But good job cleaning up, maybe you won't die today from the dangerous Cheol." Seungkwan snickered. Chan just shivered and said nothing and put the tray away. "You know he's not as scary as you think. He's actually a big softie if you don't get on his nerves that is."
"Yeah okay suck up master." Chan gave the light brown haired boy half of the tips and got his bag to walk out but Seungkwan stopped him. "Uh... Actually you can have all the tips today-"
"ARE YOU CRAZY?!"
"No... I just think you did a good job-"
"-Well if you say so." Chan smiled and snatched the cash back followed by an extreme eye roll from Seungkwan.
As they walked out and shut the door Chan waved goodbye and Seungkwan took the money out of his pocket again. "Why did he give me a HUNDRED dollars? What kind of money does he have?" Seungkwan was perplexed and scratched his head, followed with a shrug and a "Fuck it."
He walked home, ready for college next week.
