"Hey newbie come over and help me with this old man. I'll even split the loot with you.
"Newcomer please help defend against this thief." They both shouted at the same time towards Grey.

Grey not knowing what happened prior to the fight ran towards the pair. This brought a smile to both of their faces, as they thought he was coming to help them. However, when Grey get close to the pair, he swiftly incapacitated them both with a chop to the back of the neck.

After an hour or two the pair slowly woke up. Much to their displeasure they found their were both tied up. As they looked around for a way out of their binds. They saw Grey sitting on a log tending to a fire with the younger man's dagger.

"Hey cut us loose."

"No, I tied you both up to hear both sides of your storied before I decide who to help." Grey knew he would get hungry listen to their stories so when they were unconscious, he hunted rabbits in the forest. When he killed a rabbit small blue orbs came out of its body and into his. Grey assumed this was exp in the game.

'Ping. You have accepted the beginner's quest,The Old Man and the Thief.'

'Well I guess I have to find out who to trust' Grey thought.

"So you, the younger man you give me a reason why I should help you."

"Well you see I was inquiring this old geezer about a skill that he had for sale. Then he attacked me!"

"He attacked you? Interesting. So, what about you old man, what's your side of the story?"

"Well you see I live in that wooden shack you see behind us. Earning money to pay land taxes is quite hard as an old man. So I borrowed money from this thief's boss. When I couldn't pay him back he sent this thief to take my only precious item, my skill book."

"Ok so it's better obvious who's lying. It literally said 'The Old Man and the Thief. He's the Old Man and you're the Thief." Grey said as he made his way to untie the old man."Sorry about tying you up, but what should we do with him." Grey points to the Thief.

'Ping. You completed the quest, The Old Man and the Thief.' +3 Renown +One skill book: Lighting Strike

Suddenly a yellowish book with the words 'Lighting Strike' on it. As Grey looked at the book, a text bubble reading "Did you want to learn this skill" popped up. Grey not knowing glanced at the old man for advance.

"Well what are you waiting for? Skill books are pretty hard to come by. You better learn it or I will. By way the name is George." George said with a hearty laughter.

Grey, following George's advice, clicked 'Yes'. The yellowish book disappeared from his hands. A message appeared.

"Congratulations, You have learned Lightning Strike."

"COOL, but how do I use it?" Grey asked George.

"Well you just will it to happen, and the game does the rest. If you want you can test it out on that thief." Grey laughed.

Grey realizing that the thief was still tied up. Went over and stood behind him, and asked George if he was serious.

"You can just kill him, or he'll do it himself and come back in 12 hours." George stated plainly.

"So when we die it takes 12 hours to respawn? I didn't see a Health bar so how do we know if we are gonna die?"

"Well you're close. When you die in this game right before your soul and body die, the Game forcefully pulls it out and puts it back in real life. Also, any fatal wound in real life is a fatal wound in here." George explained.

"Oh alright." Grey standing behind the bandit raises his dagger, activates Lightning Strike and stabs him. When he activated Lightning Strike he felt a pulling sensation from inside his body. 'This must be mana.' he thought. His thoughts were confirmed by system prompt.

'Ping. You have unlocked the Stat, Mana.'

"Hey kid I'm hungry what about you?"

Grey realized he hasn't eaten this he got here, and felt the pain that comes with not eating for several hours.

"Yeah I'm hungry, so where can I get some food?"

"Well if you go and hunt some rabbits. I will cook them for you."

"Alright then I'll be going to the forest."

After a couple of minutes waiting in a tree, Grey saw a rabbit perk it's head up. When its head was fully visible, Grey throw the dagger at gliding speeds at the rabbit head. The rabbit didn't have time to react before it's head was impaled. Blue orbs of light floated from the dead rabbit to Grey. 'I'll have to ask George about that.' He thought. Grey found 3 more rabbits that met the same end before he went back.

When Grey arrived back at the wooden house, he raised up the 4 rabbits to show George.

"You know could just put them in your Inventory right?" George laughed.

"How can I do that."

"It's simple, touch any non-living object and think about it going in a a box. However, the weight of the object is still there, almost like you're carrying it but it's even dispersed."

"Thanks for the tip. I'll do that next time."

Grey handed over the rabbits to George, who put skewers through them to roast on the fire. As the rabbits were cooking, Grey thought back to the blue orbs coming out of the rabbit.

"Hey George when I killed these rabbits blue orbs came out of them, what was that?"

"That would be Experience or XP. Every time you killed someone or something, you earn XP, which is used as currency in the game after Newb Planet. You can also get XP for stats or aspects by using or practicing them."

"So there is more to Domain Warz after this place, and how do I know much mana I have?"

"Yep, don't worry about that until you get there, and if think about mana, your mana should show up. Be careful not to use more than you have. trust me it isn't pretty" George replied as he passed Grey two roasted rabbits.

"Ok... then where should I go tomorrow when I leave?"Grey asked as he took a bite of the roasted rabbit.

"Well there's a huge forest due west with a ton of beasts and monsters if you wanna get stronger. After your satisfied with your strength you could head to Gateway City. It should take a few days if you head through the forest, or a week if you traveled outside of the forest."

"Thank you, George for everything you've told me."

"No problem kid, but I should thanking you for helping me with that thief. You should get some rest kid if you were gonna go into the forest.

With that Grey crawled into a tent and fell asleep into a deep sleep.

When Grey woke up the morning he didn't see any signs of George or his wooden shack. 'Weird' Grey thought but didn't pay it much mind as he headed off towards the forest.
