A Better world 🌎

A girl's silhouette catches my eye in the distance. I call for her to wait but she simply giggles and broke into a run. I felt a sudden urge to follow her, so I run. Trees blur beside me as I trip over roots. A dank musk fills the air. I caught up to her as I catch my unsteady breath. She grasps my wrist and pulls me to a cliff, telling me to jump.

Beep Beep Beep

I wake up in a cold sweat. I've had the same dream for the past month and I never get past the cliff.

"Austin! You're gonna be late for school!"

"Okay mom! I'm coming."

I swiftly pull on a shirt grab my bag and head towards the bus stop. The bus comes to a rickety stop and I get on sitting in the very back, trying unsuccessfully to block out the idiots sitting near me.

My breath catches in my throat as Tiffany Jacobson walks through the door. Her curly blonde hair cascades down her back and makes her brown eyes pop against her snow white skin. I almost call to her but she turns around abruptly and sits with her boyfriend Tim. My heart sank.

"Austin! Check this out!" I turn to see Jonah-my friend since grade school-holding out a book. We quietly read his book and I go back to being invisible.
