Keith's POV
I wonder about my room, waiting for sunrise. This part I dread, my father and mother died and now that I'm 21, I have to rule this damned kingdom with Violet. I walk to the door and leave, putting on my jacket and shoes. "Good morning, Sire." One of my many servants said as I walked down the stairs. I ignore him and continue walking towards the dining hall to eat my morning meal with the council and my wretched fiancee, Violet.
She walks to me, her purple hair in a bun with braids and a maroon dress. "Where have you been? We were just about to get started, I got worried about you Keith." I whisper back to her, "No need to fret, just go eat your meal, Violet." She and I walk back to the dining table, one of the servants saying morning to me again. Shut it...
"Well, well, well, about time Sire," A few of the council members said, chuckling. I sit down with a frown, glaring at them. They stop and begin to eat.
After an hour of chitchat, I go to my archery lessons. I grab my cloak and leave to the archer. A man trips on the bridge carrying a large box of fruit. I put my hood on and go to help him out. As I reach out the grab the apple at the same time as the man, He looks up to me and I do the same, trying my best to conceal my identity but I couldn't help but be struck with awe by his dark blue eyes. "H-Hello, My name is William. What's..what's yours?" He says, grabbing the apple in his other hand. "It's Keith.." I reply back as I dust my cloak off and put my hood back on. "Nice name, here, you can have it," He says, throwing the apple to me. "You are the apple of my eye anyway. Goodbye mystery man!" William shouts as he goes to the store nearby. "Did..did he just compliment me..?" I say to myself, blushing as I continue walking to the archers.
I knock on her door, "Ms. Renai? I'm terribly sorry I'm late again but I am prepared for the lessons!" She opens her doors, "Finally! Sheesh, what's your excuse this time?!" "I..I uh" I stammer, feeling the heat arrive in my pale white cheeks. "Was it because of Violet? Eh, eh?" She says poking at me. "Shut up Zoe Renai, I could have you executed for simply touching me," I mutter, grabbing the bow and arrows. "Jeez, I was only teasing you, Keith. Anyways, today's lesson was canceled. I couldn't find a pigeon to write to your servants about it but you can still practice. I have to walk to my brothers' home for a potluck before you're coronation, Prince Keith." Zoe says, putting her dark green cloak on and grabbing her bag, putting it onto the carriage. "Thought you had to walk Ms. Renai," I say, noticing the carriage. "I do, This is just until I get to my brothers' side of the village. Goodbye and good luck with your archery lessons, Prince Keith!" And now she is gone. I might as well leave too.
I grab the equipment and pack them, putting on my cloak. I run from her home, in hopes of finding the stranger with dark blue eyes once again. He's absolutely wonderful. I must have him as my very own king as well. I never knew what love felt like since my parents passed away. Is this what it feels like...?
I keep running, looking up every minute or so. Ugh..dammit. I walk to the bridge and look at the river, streaming down to the lakes of Queen Josephine. "Hey, stranger!" A man shouts out, startling me. "Remember me?" I look up to him and spot his eyes once again. He notices my pale cheeks turning a pinkish red again. "Come on, follow me!" He grabs my hand and runs to a house which I'm only assuming was his.
"Welcome to my home Keith!" He says showing me around. "It's a lovely home, much better than mine," I say chuckling. "Ahaha, well thank you. Make yourself at home. I'll get you a beverage, what would you like?" He replies. "I'll just have some black tea with milk please." I shyly say, fidgeting with the apple he gave me earlier. "Black tea with milk? Ha, I was right then. I had a feeling that was what you'd like. I'll go get you some, in my favorite cup, just for you. I'll be right back, cutie." He says, giving me a peck on the cheek before he walked into the kitchen. My cheeks had never once felt any warmth until he first made me blush. I'm a vampire, we aren't meant to feel the warmth of any kind.
