You once pulled my lap out of thorns
Broke the shackles that wore me down
Taught me, to not cage the flight of my heart
So for your sake I have decided to live again
When I look at you It’s never smoke and mirrors
It’s always a smile, forgiveness
And with you by my side if even in spirit, tomorrow is not a shadow
Hope is not a vestige
Still, if separate paths we go
Without the fear of losing myself
I shall smile, for you and for me
You taught me
Life is a winter flower, slow but sure to bloom
Gave me a reason to believe in my dreams
And for your sake I have decided
To live again
