Despite the wrecked state of the Great Hall, people were happy. After the Battle of Hogwarts a Veil had appeared in the middle of the courtyard and the people that were lost in the recent war were returned. Fred laughed with George, Remus and Tonks sat among their friends, and Sirius sat with Ron, Harry, and Hermione. McGonagall sat at the head table wearing her usual dress robes. She knew as Headmistress she would have a lot of work to do to repair Hogwarts and she would have to start with calling Magnus Bane. The wards on Hogwarts were old magic, thankfully the Founders had made it easy for the magical ones to be put back up. However, the Demon Wards required a warlock and most in England had gone into hiding after Voldemort and Valentines recent appearances. The only one Minerva knew was Magnus, who would happily oblige, but she was scared. Dana Black was Dumbledore's greatest secrets and the knowledge of the cross-breed had been passed to her. She was the daughter of Sirius Black and Jocelyn Fairchild. The product of two strands of very powerful magic. Magnus meant the best for her, she knew of their friendship, but he was fiercely overprotective and if even a single word came out of Sirius' mouth about Dana he would probably receive a four-hour lecture on how he abandoned her and how he doesn't even deserve to know her name.

Magnus sat at the table beside Professor McGonagall. His black hood was pulled up and he almost blended into the background. He was about half-way through the spells but needed to stop for food. The Warlock immediately recognised Sirius Black, he shared the same hair as his daughter and they carried themselves similarly. Magnus knew the story and thought that after being brought back to life this man would be desperately searching for the daughter he never knew but he sat there smiling and laughing with some other kids. The parental care Magnus had for Dana wanted to come out, but the logical side knew that she would hate him for it.

There was suddenly a loud shattering sound that cut through the air and a body fell from the ceiling. Dana lay on the floor, her hair damp with water and streaks of blood, her clothes torn, and a large bite mark with black veins crawling from it on her neck. Magnus was at her side in an instant, he could feel the eyes of the people on them, but his main priority was her. She was unconscious and seemed to be getting weaker by the minute. Magnus waved his hand above her as a light green smoke encompassed the wound. Slowly a black glob slid out and formed a ball surrounded by the green light. Whispers filtered around him and he knew he'd blown his cover. He didn't care. Dana was far more important then any bubble these people were kept in.

Dana opened her eyes. Blinking furiously to try and acclimatise her pupils to the light. She surveyed the high roof and the lines of beds, it almost paralleled the infirmary in the New York Institute. She smiled slightly noticing the sleeping warlock beside her. The last she remembered was the large demons and panicking, then releasing the emergency portal Magnus had given her. It was a gift that she only let off a few times. Dana knew how to fight demons, but these ones were driven and far more powerful than usual. Recalling the shrieks and calls she pulled her knees to her chest. Shame filled her, she was a Shadowhunter for the Angels sake. Jace would mock her relentlessly for giving up in such a simple task. Shame and self-disgust filled her mind.

"Stop feeling bad, my sources tell me those demons took three top Shadowhunters to kill." Magnus' voice made her look to him. He sat on one chair and had his feet on another, he appeared almost casual, but Dana could tell that he was relieved with her waking up.

"I could've handled it if I only stayed." Magnus gave a disapproving look at her.

"You were practically dead when you went through the portal and you would be dead if you took any longer. How would your friends have reacted?" That was the end of that conversation. Magnus knew that was her weakness, her friends. Her friends! She shot up and started to climb out of bed but-

"They know you're with me, I told them it was personal business." Magnus placed a hand on her shoulder and pushed her back down.

"What kind of personal business?" Dana quizzed the man, she knew something was up because of th glint in his eye. Magnus sighed and looked at everywhere but her face. He spoke slowly,

"Your father is here. He knows about you."

There was silence. Dana stared at the angelic rune on her left wrist.

"Three years ago, if you had told me this I would have either jumped for joy or tried to kill him. Now, I couldn't care less. I have a family and he's not in it. He chose someone over me. He left. I want nothing to do with him and I hope he knows that." Her voice was cold and thick with a mixture of emotions. Magnus started,

"Well the thing is-" He was cut off as the doors swung open and in walked Sirius Black himself. The golden trio and some others followed him as he announced,

"There she is! My daughter!" His voiced carried through the room. "I knew she was special from the moment I held her. I thought to myself, here is a kid I can be proud of!" Dana glared at the man who was talking to the crowd. "Now that I'm out of Azkaban I can finally have a family with her and you Harry. You're only a few months apart." Dana shot out of the bed and looked at Magnus. The man then surrounded her in a red smoke and when is disappeared she was in full black with a leather jacket. She then pulled two swords from hidden between the bed and the bedside table. Looking at her father dead in the eye she spoke,

"I'm going home, daddy dearest. Don't look for me." She then walked out with Magnus at her side.
