*DANE'S POV*

My eyes shift back and forth as I looked up at the ceiling, the white paint sort of chipping and cracking every place I look. My eyes drop down to my left arm, which held needles and tubes.

I was in the hospital.

The room smelt of medicine and rubbing alcohol. I lean up to not only see a desk that held different containers of cotton balls and popsicle sticks, but also experience a stinging pain in my head. I grit my teeth closing my eyes tight, the pain was becoming increasingly worse every second I had my eyes open.

A click of the door made my whole body go stiff. "Mister Dehaan?" The man questioned.

I cracked an eye open at the man seeing that he was only a doctor. "You're awake." He smiled pulling a chair next to the hospital bed. "How are you feeling?"

Mentally rolling my eyes, I answered, "Pretty shitty if you may know. My head is pounding and my body feels as stiff as a board."

He chuckled quietly, slightly amused by my choice of words. "Do you know why you're here?" He questioned raising his brows.

I sigh knowing the answer. I've been here only twice before for overdosing on heroin. "I've overdosed..again."

"And you know what we talked about last time, right?" He pressured. I roll my eyes.

"Yes I know what we talked about." I said sharply. "If I had a third offense, I would be sent to rehab again for a longer period of time."

He only nodded writing a few things down on his clipboard. "We're gonna check up on your vitals to see how you're body is responding to the fluids and then you can stay here till it's time for your first day in rehab which will be in two days. I've already signed you in, so no going back." Doc said. I only sighed knowing this would happen.

I can't help that I've gotten addicted to the drug. It was all because of my old friend Daniel, he's the one that started all of this.

~Flashback~

"You know how you said that you would do anything for me? Whether it be risky or not?" Daniel asked grabbing a hold of my wrist.

"Yeah..why?" I asked nervously. Looking at the hand wrapped tightly around my wrist.

"Do you want to take this risk with me? I promise you it will take away all the pain and misery you're father has put you through. It lasts a day but you can still feel it after that one day. That's what's so good about it." He smiled looking me in the eyes. His eyes were tinted red from the amount of weed he had smoke only minutes ago.

"Good about what? What are you talking about Danny?" I asked slightly worried.

"I call it 'feel good serum'." He said pulling out a serenge that was filled with a coppery, yellow looking substance. I look at the serenge with weary eyes.

"Will it hurt?"

"Only a second." Daniel said grabbing ahold of my forearm and jabbing the needle into the pit of my elbow, quickly releasing the liquid inside my veins. I scream in pain trying to take my arm away but his grip only tightened, so I stopped to let him finish what he had already started.

"It's done." He said smiling as a trickle of blood ran down my arm when the needle was removed. I look at it with disgust, pain shooting through my veins.

My head was becoming cloudy, all my worries were soon replaced with..nothing.

I was literally on cloud nine. Everything went away, just like he promised they would. What ever this 'feel good serum' was..I needed more, and now.

~Flashback Over~

I was only fifteen. My innocence ruined by this one boy that I had fell for back in highschool.

Daniel and I had done everything together. He was my bestfriend, my brother, my first guy crush, and my last.

I am straight, but I had a special place in my heart for Daniel. He opened my eyes to things I had never seen or done before, or even thought about doing in my whole life.

He changed me for the worse.

Not only did he force me into drugs, but he had forced me into many other things.

But that's a different story for another time.

I closed my eyes letting the darkness consume me and sleep take over. My mind imediently clouded with thoughts of the feathery brown haired boy, with the ocean, sky blue eyes and round spectacles that laid upon his nose. His cherry lips had formed a slight smirk before he spoke. His words sending a chill throughout my entire body. "I've won."
