The Shooting Star | Chapter 1

Luna's POV.

The night fell across the land, the cold breeze blowing my mane as I looked at the night sky. I always loved this time of night, the stars at their brightest. I noticed one was shining brighter than the rest. It was big and bright. I thought nothing of it and continued to examine the sky.

My gaze however, found it's way back to the star. I could have sworn it had come closer. I again thought nothing of it. But my curiosity had become attached. I sat down for a moment. Gazing at the star.

It had definately moved closer to equestria.

I knew if it got too close I would have to send it back, my job is to protect equestria at night after all. But some thing inside of me wanted to let it soar.

I sighed, ready to do what I needed to. However I heard raised voices from inside. Celestia and Starswirled to be exact.

I stood up and walked inside, the words becoming clearer.

"Celestia! You know I only want what's best for Equestria!"
"That's all you care about!! What about me!? What about Luna!? We are new to ruling! And now you expect us to handle dreams and destiny?! We raise the sun and moon for heaven's sake!!"
"What do you think was going to happen?! You get to do nothing?! No! You need to..."

He was cut off by the door opening. I stood in the doorway looking at them.

"Luna...."
"Tia....whats going on?"
"Nothing....we just....."

A loud crash was heard. I tensed and jumped. It didn't sound normal. We all looked at each other for a moment, before running outside.

When we got outside we saw a large crater, in the centre was a ball of light. I looked to the sky. The bright star was gone. Could it be that this energy is the star I saw?

"Starswirled....what is it....?"
"I'm not sure Celestia...."

The ball of energy warped and shifted. It swirled around Celestia, like it was learning and adapting. It then came to me to do the same.

A moment passed and a bright white light blinded our vision. When it cleared we saw a figure. Harshly stood in the crater, Clearly having issues with balance.

Once our vision adjusted we got a full look at the figure.

There stood another alicorn.
