Beep , Beep , Beep , Beep ,
I groan in exhaustion as I lazily reach over to my night stand to put my alarm on snooze, the annoying noise settling. I sigh though, knowing that I have to get up and get my crap together anyways.
I sit up slowly, rubbing my eyes before sliding my feet out of the bed. My gaze fell out the window, rain hitting it freely. I frown, sitting up from the bed before I start to get ready.
Living in the outskirts of London sucked sometimes. The rain was horrible, not to mention the constant cold and bitter weather. The people were somewhat kind though, my neighbors lived awhiles down since our houses well... weren't very close. We lived on tons of land, and trust me, its not always the best.
My attention was stolen once I heard the door bell ring, a smile coming over my face as I quickly pull a shirt over my head and run down the steps. I already knew it was my best friend Taylor Chilliwack. My friend since preschool. I pretty much consider her my sister, I don't think there is one thing that she doesn't know. She has thee most perfect brown eyes which match her chocolate brown curls amazingly... nothing compared to my flat blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Morning!" She cheers, her smile widening at the sight of me. I embrace her in a quick hug before beginning to prepare some breakfast. "Morning, hows it going?" I ask, flashing her a smile. "Ugh.. busy. Nothing close ready for that damn math quiz today.." She sighed. I groaned along with her, nodding slightly as I sat a plate of food in front of her.
"I'm with you on that.. I barely studied. I'm fully prepared to tank it," I laughed, taking a bite from the eggs on my plate. She just chuckled, shaking her head slowly. "Get used to it," She grinned, poking my arm playfully.
Taylor drove us both to school, already hating the fact it was only Monday... Monday.
I tried to not think of it in a bad way.. especially since I work tonight. Every Monday and Sunday this guy, Nate John, preforms at the cafe. He is absolutely beautiful. He has piercing green eyes, brown curls which are normally hidden by either a bandana or beanie. His smile is gorgeous as well, dimples on each of his cheeks which obviously makes him more adorable.
"Um... Ingrid?" I hear a voice say, my attention immediately landing on my long time friend Joseph. I sigh in relief, blushing slightly as I look up at him.
"Sorry... just distracted," I chuckle, shrugging slightly. He just laughed it off, smirking as he looks down. "Hey, its cool. I actually wanted to ask you something.." He admitted. I smiled, raising my brows in curiosity. "Go on..." I trail.
"Well, you know prom is in a few weeks," He starts off. I just nod slowly, chuckling slightly. "And I was curious if you maybe.. um.. are you going?" He chuckles, smiling slightly.
I already know he likes me, and I've told him numerous times it was never going to work out. Mainly because he is a brother to me, and two... it just wouldn't.
I sigh, shaking my head before giving him a playful shove. "Go on Joseph," I laugh, slinging my bag over my shoulder before heading off.
Once school was over, I went straight to work since I start right at four. I normally work until closing, which is at about midnight.
I'm first greeted by my boss, and the owner of the cafe, Laura Woods. Shes a adorable old woman, and she always makes everyone laugh. Her personality shines through perfectly, and I'm glad I get to have her in my life. She always knows about my crush... and she annoys the hell out of me about it.
Nights Nate comes and plays, he always has the largest audience in here. I'm convinced he is going to get famous one day.. and so he should. The boy has thee best music I have ever heard, and his voice is beautiful.
"Ingrid, get the food started, its going to start getting busy," I hear a annoying voice say. I sigh, slowly turning around to see the one and only Hannah Inglewood. She is basically just a bitch.. and also Nate's ex.
"I'd be more thn happy to," I mumbled, making sure to give her a small shoulder shove while walking by.
Within half a hour, I notice it start to get busy, the audience from teenage girls to parents all gathering in, mainly because of Nate. It always got this way before he arrives. Everyone adores him more than.. anything.
He is very quiet and humble, the most grounded and caring person I've seen. He always greets everyone, takes photos and helps with whatever he can. There isn't one bad thing about that boy, he just seems out of this world.
My eyes immediately land over on the stage when I hear cheering, my smile widening right then. There he stood, in plaid shirt, black jeans with a typical hole in the knee. His curls were held back perfectly by a bandana.
"Good evening everyone," Nate said softly, small cheering coming from the audience.
"Tonight, I'm going to be singing one of my originals... one I actually just wrote. Its called Don't let me go," He said, smiling as everyone cheered a bit louder. He started strumming softly, gaze searching the crowd slowly.
I leaned against the counter, my gaze glued on him the entire time. His voice was delicate, the hint of rasp and kindness in his voice just seemed so effortless. The words he sung just sounded amazing, his lyrics filled with story and truth.
Once finished, everyone cheered as loud as possible, screaming and whistling coming from around. He smiled widely, giving a small bow. "Thank you so much," He chuckled, grinning.
He then just covered songs as usual, most songs either indie music or dropped down pop songs. That boy could sing anything, and it would sound perfect.
Afterwards, he gave one last bow and started to clean up, I just smiled to myself before slowly going around to gather up dishes. Nate and Laura started talking, Taylor following up behind me.
"I don't even know why he causes so much hype around here... if you knew him, he is actually a asshole," She mumbled. I just rolled my eyes, gathering more plates.
"Right.. because I'm sure you knew him so well," I scoffed, surprised when she took my arm.
"I knew him enough to know he is nothing but bad news," She muttered quietly before letting me go to head back behind the counter.
