Painful Extinction

Chapter one: An encounter

  It was a calm evening, the sun was starting to set, I was enjoying the beautifull view, when from a distance I heard a breaking of wind. I knew it was here so I stood up from the top of the building waiting for it to pass. The gush of wind was a bit chilly, from the corner of my eye I saw the Griflack, she was gliding through the sky with her rider. The moment she started to cutt through the wind, I let myself fall from the building. She was by my side from a long distance, I remember the color of her eyes, she was suffering from being away from her master , sharing her body with a demon was a painful death.

Once a gloriuos Griffen now a suffering Griflack, saving her was my priority as I still fell from the sky I turned my body in order to land . The Griflack started to swoop as if it was going to catch prey but suddenly glided in such a beautiful way evading the ground. I landed preparing myself for a full speed sprint , there were lots of buildings ahead , breaking through them would make the pair notice me. So I impulsed myself at an inmense speed taking out the bow and spacearrows , the ground behind me started to crack. I then shot three of the space arrows creating an oppening to pass through the walls without breaking any of them.

Jaime's invention was very usefull , they had a special magnetic field to come back to the bow evading any evidence left behind and not getting lost. He had modified a variety of them, some creating interdimensional oppenings others being as simple as an explosion, his inventions were magnificent. Even the prototypes although some of them still need to be modified in order to become better.

As I was by their side sprinting and passing through buidings I decided it was time to attack so I jumped on top of a building taking out a normal arrow and shooting it at the rider. He dodged it looking at me he ordered the griflack to fly faster, so I starded to sprint faster taking out an explosive arrow ,as I was already ahead, I jumped in front of them, the rider secured his mask and tried to stop the griflack in order to go through another route. I pointed the arrow at the rider he then took out his shield..I smiled and pointed the arrow at the griflacks right wing causing an explosion she fell to the ground, getting up and trying to fly once again the rider knew her wing was broken because of the impact so he untied himself and started to run.

I knew he wouldn't get that far he was a rookie. I went towards the griflack and took out my swords piercing her chest, the demon inside vanished returning to the infraworld, she was purified her spirit came out of her body,

 I stood up and told her " you're free now." 

she bowed and replied" Thank you for your kindness, I shall asist you when you are in need."

I smiled at her and said " Before you leave I would like you to send her my greetings and a message, please."

- " of course, my lady." said the griffen

Then I heard my comrades voice-Hey! Mannon I caught him for you! What should we do?

I turned around and saw that the rookie was tied down in a chair

 I replied - Well Christian it's time to ask him some questions! Don't you think?!-

-As I started to take his mask of I noticed he was part of the Blackshadow elite, either way he was still a rookie.

Who sent you?-I asked

No answer... I see - said Christian

Why are you here?- I insisted
