richie tozier

"hurry up, rich," eddie's exasperated voice came from the doorway, where i knew he was scratching his neck impatiently, watching me. "bill told us to meet at the convenience store right about now."

"i know, dipshit," i retorted, throwing aside the fifth drawer that i'd pulled completely out of my nightstand. "that's why i'm looking for money. billy told us to bring as much as we could."

"oh, shit!" eddie whimpered, closing his eyes and running a hand through his hair. "fuck! i knew i had forgotten something before i came over here."

"well, screw this," i said, getting to my feet and stumbling over the drawers strewn across my bedroom floor. "let's go."

eddie and i bolted down the stairs and straight out the front door into the yard, where our bikes laid on their sides in the lush green grass.

i couldn't help but smile to myself as we both hoisted our bikes up and got onto them; it had been forever since the losers club had hung out.

"why do you think bill wanted us to meet at the store?" eddie asked as we pedaled down the street in the direction of the shop.

"maybe he wanted to make sure we all have condoms," i replied. "i mean, we haven't seen each other in forever, so for all he knows, we could need to restock! i know i do. girls just can't seem to hop off my dick."

he rolled his eyes, making a slight gagging noise. "god, richie, you're so disgusting."

in no time at all, we were rounding on the store, pulling into the alleyway right beside it, where we usually met.

"richie! eddie!" stanley shouted as eddie and i skidded to a stop beside his bike.

"hey, stan," eddie said, smiling at him. "how've you and your dad been since you failed at your last religious assignment?"

"about the same," stanley replied with a shrug, looking at the ground bashfully as he always did.

"hey guys!" ben moved towards us over the horizon, grinning stupidly. he quickly hopped off his bike. "where's bill?"

stan shifted uncomfortably. "i think he's on his way...with beverly," he said quietly.

ben's chubby cheeks turned bright red. "oh, right."

my heart seemed to sink at this information too; we hadn't seen each other in forever, and now beverly was coming along.

"there he is," eddie said, smiling widely as the rest of our heads turned to see bill and beverly turning the corner, fingers intertwined.

i felt my heart skip as bill smiled at all of us, and quickly looked at ben, whose fists clenched but otherwise was showing no sign of caring.

"h-hey guys," bill said, brushing a strand of hair out of his face. beverly smiled beside him, nodding at us.

i fixed my glasses, trying to focus on something other than their hands being clasped together like a purse.

"i-i was th-thinking that maybe w-we could a-all hangout today and b-b-buy some snacks and sh-shit to e-eat, m-maybe watch a m-movie at my place or s-something?" bill asked, scanning out faces for what we thought.

"that sounds cool," said ben, eyes fixed on beverly. "really cool."

"i first the notion that we buy some unhealthy shit and watch a movie at bill's house," eddie said, raising his hand half heartedly.

"i second that," said beverly, leaning her head on bill's shoulder and looking back and forth between stan and i, waiting for our opinions.

"sounds good to me," stan said, everyone turning to me. i just gave a small shrug, and then followed whenever bill and beverly lead the way up to the entrance of the building.
