Notice me

I gasped as I suddenly woke up.
What had I been dreaming? I remembered Jungkook's face - so, so close to mine....
I wished it was real, but as usual, it was just another dream.

I had been dreaming a lot about him these days. Ever since I first saw him in my English class.

Sounds like the beginning of a romantic cliché, doesn't it?
Oh, how I wish it was. How I wish it was me he woke up thinking about everyday, just like I did for him.

I looked at the LED alarm clock on my bedside table, and winced. Too bright. I blinked a few times until everything came into focus and looked at the time.

5:12 AM.

Good, that meant I could finally get ready for school in leisure this time. I definitely had no intention of going back to sleep.

I pulled the blanket off me and shivered slightly from the cold that hit my bare, uncovered skin. I realized I had unconsciously taken off my clothes in the middle of the night and was left in my boxers.

Oh well.

I turned on the lights and went to the bathroom, only to stare at my disheveled appearance in the mirror.

I looked like I came back from the dead.

Sighing, I washed my face, welcoming the cold water as it washed away any signs of tiredness.

I looked at my appearance with determination. I would make myself look good. I would make myself good enough for him. And this time, when he walked through the doors of the classroom, his eyes wouldn't glaze past me like they always did.

Two hours later, I was walking to school in the most fashionable clothes I had worn all year. Tight ripped jeans, a white shirt and a black jacket. I felt... Weird, yet excited to see everyone's reactions. I had never, ever consciously tried to gain attention, and maybe, just maybe, it scared me a little.

I entered the school, and honestly, I had almost forgot about what I was wearing until I noticed the girls staring at me.

Yes, they were literally staring.

I had never felt so self conscious in my life. I had to admit that I didn't look that bad in these clothes, but all the attention just seemed so foreign.

I quickly walked away from all those people, almost as if I was trying to escape them. I guess I kinda was.

I entered the washroom and looked at myself. My hair which I had so painfully styled, my face on which I had actually put moisturizer, and my lips, which didn't look dry and chapped as usual.

I looked.... Hot.

No wonder the girls had been staring at me. But they were not the ones I wanted to please.

I exited the washroom and set out to find Jungkook.

In the end, I couldn't find him and had to go to class. Now I would have to wait for English class to see him.

The day went by very slowly and painfully, with not just the girls but the boys staring at me as well, though their expressions were not that friendly. I wanted to melt away, but I had to stay strong. I had to show Jungkook my new side. I had to make Jungkook notice me.

It was finally time for English class, and I was nervous as hell. I didn't even know why, but for some reason, Jungkook's reaction to my new look mattered to me way too much than it should have.

I entered the classroom and made my way to my seat. I sat on top of the desk and even managed to sit in a slightly sexy way, trying to make myself look attractive.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Jungkook enter the room, looking perfect as usual in a white shirt and jeans and Timberlands. I was also aware that every other girl in the room was also looking at him, their attention towards me forgotten.

Jungkook looked around the room like he always did whenever he entered, and I could almost feel my heartbeat increase when he gazed in my direction.

.... But he didn't notice me. His gaze slipped past me like it always did and he went over and settled into his seat, completely oblivious to the hurt that took control of my features.
