A knock at the door sends a middle-aged man flying towards it, yelling for his wife to come urgently. Gripping the handle firmly, he heaves open the door and stares hopefully at the two men at the door. As news reaches reluctant ears, the world seems to slow for the awaiting couple.

Legs collapse.

Tears burst.

Grievous screams emerge from trembling lips.

A pitiful glimpse land on the mourning family, feeling the loss of a child taken far too soon. Kind words of comfort are served although not appreciated at the given time. Hearts yearn for the youth who'll never receive a chance at life.

Mumbles derive from the wailing woman asking why it was her child who was ripped from her. Asking why she deserved this. Asking why she was being punished.

Closure enclosed the two aching parents, but not in the way they wished.

"I'm sorry to say, Mr Young but we found Iris' body in the river this morning. I'm sorry."
