I was sitting on the roadside bench when it started pouring down rain. "Shit!" I yelled. I quickly yanked off my shirt in frustration and held it above my head. Amanda turned the corner, revealing herself. "Where the fuck were you?" I whispered as I quickly ran to kiss her. She smiled and took me by the hand, leading me back to the bench. We sat, waiting for the bus to arrive. After a few minutes, my shirt was drenched and so were we. Eventually, two lights came into view, practically blinding us but giving us notice that the bus had arrived. The bus pulled into place, the doors creaking open. "After you." I said, Amanda hurrying onto the bus. I followed her to the very back of the bus where we leaned on one another. The bus doors creaked shut and we were off.
With Amanda asleep on my shoulder, I took into notice that we were the only passengers on the bus besides an elderly woman sitting near the front. I couldn't help but stare at the back of her head. She had curly, blonde hair that stood upright, adding about six inches to her height. I looked down and held Amanda, falling asleep. When morning came, I gently nudged her awake. With a groan, Amanda asked, "Are we here?".
"Almost." I whispered as I kissed her head. I glanced forward to see that the elderly woman was no longer on the bus. Amanda noticed the discomfort on my face and asked what was wrong. "Nothing. There was just an old bitch that left." I grunted in annoyance. With that, I added that she was to ask no more questions. After three stops were made, no one entering the bus, we arrived at our destination. I quickly got up, stepping aside in the isle to make room for Amanda. I followed her off of the bus, first giving the bus driver his money.
Once the bus pulled away, I grabbed Amanda and pulled her in, kissing her. I then took her by the hand and we walked through the automatic doors. "Welcome to Hartsfield International Airport." said a middle-aged lady who was way to perky for my liking. I gave the lady a forced smile and rolled my eyes as we walked by her. Amanda and I then walked through the medical detectors, not having to worry about luggage. After going up a series of escalators and taking the monorail, we arrived at Gate B. Once we took a seat, Amanda squeezed my leg and notified me that she had to use the restroom. I let her go and impatiently waited for her return.
Immediately after Amanda had left, a teenage girl came and took a seat next to me. "Can I help you?" I asked, concerned. The girl whispered into my ear that she wanted to play. She then ran her hand down my jeans and squeezed my thigh. With eyes wide, I got up and spotted Amanda coming out of the restroom. I quickly walked over and forcefully kissed her, watching the teenager walk away in disgust. Amanda felt her lip as I walked slowly with her back to the gate. We were about to take our seats when an announcement was made that our plane had arrived. I took our tickets out of my pocket and handed Amanda hers.
Before boarding the plane, we were told by a flight attendant that we looked like a nice couple. I couldn't help but smirk as I followed Amanda onto the plane. She took a seat near the back and I was unable to sit next to her as we were one of the last few passengers on the plane. I reluctantly took a seat four rows in front of her, sitting in between a fat, bearded man and an elderly woman. The previous flight attendant grabbed the intercom off of the wall and asked that everyone remained seated. I placed a mint into my mouth and shut my eyes, ignoring her.
I awoke to a harsh landing and swallowed my spit to enable my hearing. I remained seated as the two people sitting by me got up along with everyone else. Once I spotted Amanda, she excitedly waved for me to follow her. I shoved past a few people to catch up with her. Once we were off the plane, she exclaimed, "We are here!". I told her to calm down while giving her my hand to hold. We went down another series of escalators, proceeding to baggage claim where we swiped two suitcases. On our way out of the airport, a small sign hanging above the door read, "You are now leaving Bishop International Airport." I noticed Amanda reading the sign and I whispered, "We are at our new home. We are in Michigan."
