"You guys too?!" Kanoa yelled and waved his fabric scroll as him and Ariki hit the sandy shores of montonui only minutes after us.
"Come on!" The four of us hurry up to the mountain top, reaching the pike only seconds after Airini lands. So that leaves me, Maui, Kanoa and Ariki, and Airini. In a flash of blue my Grandma appears before me, i make no hesitation to hurry into her arms.
"Grandma!" She rested her head on mine but i was too overwhelmed to accept the comfort. "Whats going on? I- I don't understand."
"I told you the prophecy of your journey all those years ago, its only right i do it again," she stepped back and clapped her hands above her head, exploding in a flash of white. I turn my head away and blink the white spots from my eyes, i look back and I'm surrounded by tapestry. Grandmas voice echoes around me as the canvas comes to life.
"Long ago, long before even the mother Island Te Fiti emerged, the ocean was a vast, angry mass of waves and water."
The waves on the tapestry began to roll, angry, stormy, white topped waves crashed against each other.
"From the vast ocean, emerged a soldier, a warrior with no one to face, and no one to protect."
The waves shifted up until the water was pulled up into the silhouette of a man, slim yet strong. The ocean stood tense, constantly looking around to find nothing but more water around it.
"Until one day, the ocean came across a young girl, still a child it would seem. Lost and afraid, weak and terrified the girl swam."
A small girl came into the tapestry, even for an image made of ink you could see that the girl was mortal, tired and weak but swimming like the poor souls life depended on it.
"She told the great man of water that she had been swimming non stop for several days, trying to find a hero to save her village that had been ravaged by monsters."
The girl on the tapestry was now pleading, the man of ocean kneeled down to her level.
"However, the monters rarely emerged under the light of day, and the night was far too dark for the ocean to even see the creatures that caused her people so much harm."
The whole tapestry went black, bright flashes of lightning cracked across the canvas, before it whirled back into picture.
"The girl was determined to save her village, and to protect her people she made the ultimate sacrifice."
A whirlpool opened beneath the human girl and swallowed her whole, i couldn't help the gasp as it closed. The ocean went still, until ripples began to reverberate along the oceans smooth surface. A large sphere slowly surfaced and floated up, its the moon.
"She gave up her entire being, body, heart and soul, to light the way so that the warrior could avenge her and save her people."
The oceans silhouette fought off all the creatures, saving the lonely village of rafts and boats.
"The ocean swallowed all the horrible creatures, forever sealing them away beneath the depths."
The village and silhouette both dropped beneath the horizon of the tapestry, the raging ocean went still and all was quiet.
"However, the girls sacrifice went on, as she lit the way through the darkness, the girl and the ocean kept each other company as time progressed, watching all as the monsters were sealed away from humans alike. It is said, however that one day, the moon will fall, and the ocean will lose its light and the monsters will be unleashed once again, unless a the magic of her sacrifice can be restored, or else all will fall back into darkness, forever."
The world arpund me went dark, and as i came to te world around me was spinning, my eyes shoot open and im on the ground. I sit up as the world settles, the sun is rising and everyone is asleep around me.
