Humanity... we've come a long way since our first voyage to the stars, we've made our name prominent in the stories of our neighboring races of the milky way galaxy, and have come together to face an enemy of extraordinary capabilities, yet time and time again we've shown that a good relationship and common interest of safety for the people, can create a force beyond expectations of any race. I've led men and women of various races into combat, ranging from the Skyllian blitz to the Reaper invasion and have been victorious every single time without fail, by keeping in mind this concept through every firefight I've ever fought in and today stand as living proof, that the joining of arms is always the best solution. I've served a lot of years in the Alliance Navy, but now it's time for me to leave my legacy to the rest of mankind. Fleet Admiral Shepard out.

Shepard's resignation was a shock among the entire galaxy, but it's through his conquest as humanity's hammer which furthered the development of the Alliance as a whole, the military started to follow proven combat doctrines recorded and tested during the battles against the reapers and followed on such changes by splitting the Alliance into different branches: Army, Navy, and Air Force to provide a large variety of strategies and readiness should such a disaster occur again. Since that time the earth underwent mass terraforming to produce a planet which was completely self-sufficient and adaptable with today's changing needs in living conditions. The earth itself is now nearly four times the size it was during the days of the war and entirely new land masses have followed in the expansion of the planet. Civilisation changed as a whole as nations started to focus around a singular government body and eventually the entire planet strictly followed the laws of Alliance space command, there were no longer wars to be fought on earth, and the standard language on the planet became English, but combat and war still became apparent on other planets in which were being adopted as suitable colonies for humanity which all became a part of Alliance controlled space over the many years.

*Desk bangs* "Boy are you listening at all?!" My eyes gathered a structured solid body across the desk in front of my chest, a broad man sat in front of me with a confused expression plastered across his face, with his arms folded in an aggressive yet impatient manner, I focused my eyes to directly look him in the face and slowly nodded my head whilst focussing on the banner behind him 'Old Junction Alliance Army recruitment embassy', "So lad, let's start again with your name" as the military recruiter questioned the young man he could only remember the past in which he'd be leaving behind before signing up, from the advertising on the public buses to the old videos of Fleet Admiral Shepard explaining his old combat stories *smack* "Hey Miles! You're so interested in those videos that you never do chores around the around the orphanage! The other kids are noticing as well you know. You'll never be a soldier anyway, everyone knows that people from Old Junction are just the 'rejects' who don't fit in the other cities, why do you think we're orphans." I slowly tilted my head back and looked at the small boy whose hand was still covering the right side of my face, his long black hair made it difficult to engage full eye contact, but I still looked into his general direction, to show how little concern I had over his words and continued watching the rest of the vid. "Whatever, everyone knows that Shepard died like 200 years ago or something why are you still back in the stone age Miles, I just don't get you" after leaving another annoying comment the small boy climbed up to the top of the bunk and started to snore almost instantly after spreading his legs over the side of the top bunk.

"Miles Lincoln Bishop huh? File says you grew up in an orphanage in Old Junction, no formal prior education once you finished state schooling or record of working in any of the local districts. 19 years of age and no previous criminal convictions. Says here you were pulled out from the Orphanage after it was set alight by a local street gang and you were found with multiple stab wounds to the chest, a Sergeant Archer of the local Alliance constabulary saved your life 2431 CE, just a little after your 18th birthday." My eyes began to constantly flicker, my hands began erupting with heat as the recruiter's words became distant - "Why the fuck did you stab him, idiot, how are we going to find out where the kid hid the Minagen X3 now?!" I couldn't make out the faces as my eyesight began to fade, my chest became cold and it became harder to breathe. *Miles' eyesight begins to fade in and out* "Hey we've got another one in here! He seems to be alive but in bad condition and needs medical attention as soon as possible, Officer Derick, call the local hospital and have them ready for a patient who requires immediate attention, he's been beaten up pretty badly". Flames wrap the halls of the orphanage, as I'm hauled on the shoulders of a local police officer, I remembered this pain vividly, not of myself but the sting of knowing that family had died from my stupid attempt at helping them.
