I woke up that morning with a huge weight lifted off my chest.
I had finally told someone the dire plan that Boss was planning.
Frankly, I found it horrific. Boss really gave Moriarty a run for his money (Sherlock reference. Insert happy dance here)
It was called the alphabetical homicide.
my job was to get all the registers from my school, and then Boss was going to play an alphabet game.
It was basically to find someone with the first name of every letter of the alphabet, and find a way to kill them with the same letter as their name. It had to be as creative and torturous as we could do.
For example:
Skin Samantha
Choke Carrie
Beat Bertie
It was a heartless, cold thing to even think about.
You were awarded points depending on how hard your letter is to find, and how creative your method of murder is.
For example:
The letters X and Q would get you a lot of points.
What were they expecting for X? Death by xylophone?
I had told Izzy in the car and she demanded to help me.
She was so nosy. But I loved that about her nevertheless.
I got out of bed, only to see that it was 8:10.
Shit, I was going to be so late.
Yep. That's $5 in the swear jar.
I quickly rushed out of bed, throwing my clothes on and silently thanking god that I lived close to school.

After school, I checked my phone to see that I had got a text from a blocked number:
Come to TH 2nite at 11.
I instantly knew who it was. Boss always kept his number blocked so that if he made enemies, no-one could track him or betray him by giving our rivals his number.
He was smart. That was another reason why he was so scary.
I was at home and it was 8:04. I had around 3 hours to get to the meeting. I was going to make my way to the hell (stolen from what they called the cellar in Shakespearean theatre days - see, told you he was smart) at 10:30 so I figured I had some time.
I picked up the first movie I saw and slotted it into the DVD player.
It was lonely being home alone all the time.

I turned off "White Chicks" and wiped a tear off my cheek.
That movie is the funniest thing of all time, I swear.
I looked at the clock and my eyes widened. Was I going to be late for everything today?
*******
"So nice to see you Lucas." Boss said calmly, unfazed by my tardiness.
"Sorry I'm late, I lost track of time and-"
"Never mind that. You're here now and that's all that matters." He smiled and it sent shivers down my spine.
The bad kind.
"We were just talking about your role in this plan. Its essential."
The room stayed silent.
