Into The Storm

Crash. Noises came from behind the store counter. 

"3..2..1!" Raven exclaimed. 

Her and her best friend Loli ran up from the empty food racks they were kneeling behind. Raven swiftly swung her blade into the creatures head while Loli checked around the corners for more of them. 

"These zoms are getting easier and easier to take care of." Loli said grinning.

"Don't get too cocky now." Raven told her as she climbed over the counter to gather anything valuable that may have been left behind.

 "And please stop calling them 'zoms'." Raven said as she grabbed some pill bottles and a pack of cigarettes. "Nothing that useful, some pain killers and smokes." Raven said as she climbed back over the counter. Putting the items in her bag. Raven walked over to Loli and looked left and right, checking.

"Clear!" Loli clarified.

 Raven swiftly went outside the small gas station and onto the blood stained side walk of a once beautiful city and speed walked, being wary with every step. Loli ran to catch up with Raven. 

"Where are we going now?" Loli asked as she slightly struggled to keep up with Raven.

"We should head back to camp, its getting late and Mondays are when the walkers roam the most. We shouldn't be out here in the first place." Raven talked quickly, mimicking her walking speed.

Loli ran up to their small camp like fenced place. She opened the gate and looked behind her to see if Raven was following, Raven was standing still, staring at the pinkish yellow sky that was slowly turning purple.                                                                                              

  "You okay?" Loli asked slightly concerned. Raven shook her head clearing her mind.                    

"Yeah I'm fine, its just the sky hasn't been like this in awhile...Its nice.." 

Loli smiled."Yeah! Its really nice today." She replied. 

Raven looked away, maybe a bit to fast since as she did so her hair went into her eye. Loli weakly held back a laugh. Raven moved her hair out of the way. 

"Shut up." She said while walking into the small camp. 

Hours later, around midnight Raven was on watch. Standing outside the gate armed with her best knife and a pistol Loli had stolen from a drunk man. It was a particularly hot night so Raven had took off  her normal blue blood stained jacket .  It had been quite all night , it was calming to Raven but her eyes were becoming heavier. Just as she was about to go and wake up Loli to switch shifts, Their were loud noises coming from around the street corner.

"oh Irene..." Raven groaned, as a hoard of Walkers
started to gather
