I was re-reading my favorite book series, The Mortal Instruments, written by Cassandra Clare. My mother announced that a flyer was in our mailbox.
It read:

Saturday May 17th 5:00pm to 12:00pm
Come in a mask w/ a dress or suit!
Anyone may come!

I guess I have nothing to lose.
I told my mother I was going to the mall. She generously handed me 200 dollars to spend on a dress, shoes and makeup. I was exited. I have never worn a dress before.
I walked in a prom dress store. I was looking for something very simple for the party when I found it. It was a ruffly white dress with sparkles. Long in the back, shorter in the front. I bought a black pair of wedges that I fell in love with and bought some makeup from Lord and Taylor.
2 days until the party... This is going to be an experience I Marzia Bisognin will never forget.
